Feel for you mate, you wait for an age for them to turn up only to wait another hour while they build that contraption on the back of their tranny van.
Any news on the stricken 1299 mate ?, not good after only a handful of rides and a couple of downpours
The Multi's went through bouts of this too. Can-Line errors can be anything from failed ECU's, Suspension units, Wiring looms or just a bad connector somewhere. Took two dealer visits and slew of new ECU's and a rear shock to sort mine out. Hope yours is something small!
No news yet. Last I heard it wasnt communicating with diagnostic tool. Didn't have time to ring today and I'm away until Friday now. Hopefully hear something by then.
Spoke to dealers. They got her running today. They are working through the sensors and connectors to trace what caused it.
Some models are "assembled" in Thailand but apparently only for the Far East markets, a workaround to ensuring lower corporate taxes when importing into these areas
I was only joking mate thought nearly everything gets made over there now would expain all the faults
I forget the exact numbers but the majority of the Ducati bikes are assembled with parts sourced within approx 100 km of Bologna factory.
Back in baby's arms. CAN LINE error free and first service done. Hopefully next time I see dealer is in 6850 miles!
Did they managed to isolate one connector/component that was at fault by using their diagnostics? Only asking as it might be handy for other owners
Nope. The can line error cleared after about 24 hours. They tried to get it to reappear it didn't. They took apart every connector and sensor checking them then regreasing before putting back together. They even unwrapped the loom to check for water ingress. I believe they replaced the unit under the seat. They did 55 miles on it over a period of days including after they soaked the bike to see if moisture caused it. First service done now so I'm going to carry on riding her unless we get more snow. If it's moisture related we will find out soon enough.
