Close your eyes and think of what a Ducati should be and every time i think 1098r,beautiful to look at,exotic materials, and a snarling beast of a engine and zero deprecation. My only concern is i dont think it would be half as good a road bike as my 899 is and you would need a second bike, see talking myself out of it now, bloody devil and angel syndrome.
A Tricolore S but worth mentioning regarding values - I saw a new (1 mile example) one for sale in Europe about 5 months ago for Circa £11K Then this turns up now for £20K Could be the exact same one :smileys: Ducati 1098 S TRICOLORE STUNNING BRAND NEW | eBay

You're comparing apples and oranges though Andy. The 1199R hasn't depreciated to the point where values are starting to rise again, the 1098R looks like it may have done. Look at the price of some of these compared to an 1199R. In a logical world, it makes no sense. Ducati MIKE HAILWOOD REPLICA PART OF OLIVER TOBIAS COLLECTION | eBay 1976 Ducati 900SS bevel. I get the collectable aspect, especially with those bikes that have become classics but it seems that in a relatively short space of time, the 1098R has attained a cult status that is probably supporting a strong residual value. I'm more than a little surprised how more desirable it is considered than the 1198R and 1199R. Is being an homolgation special reason enough ? Andy

You saying his missus weighs similar to a Ducati Superbike? That could be fighting talk. :Nailbiting:
