1098 1098r And Bayliss Owners Advice Needed

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by ducatidude1098r, Oct 22, 2015.

  1. Close your eyes and think of what a Ducati should be and every time i think 1098r,beautiful to look at,exotic materials, and a snarling beast of a engine and zero deprecation. My only concern is i dont think it would be half as good a road bike as my 899 is and you would need a second bike, see talking myself out of it now, bloody devil and angel syndrome.

  2. £17000 2500 miles

  3. Exactly my thoughts too. And I can't keep my 899 too.

  4. A Tricolore S but worth mentioning regarding values - I saw a new (1 mile example) one for sale in Europe about 5 months ago for Circa £11K
Then this turns up now for £20K
Could be the exact same one :smileys:

  6. This isn't meant as a critisism, just a statement, that isn't far off 1199R money. Andy

  7. You're comparing apples and oranges though Andy. The 1199R hasn't depreciated to the point where values are starting to rise again, the 1098R looks like it may have done.

Look at the price of some of these compared to an 1199R. In a logical world, it makes no sense.

  8. I get the collectable aspect, especially with those bikes that have become classics but it seems that in a relatively short space of time, the 1098R has attained a cult status that is probably supporting a strong residual value. I'm more than a little surprised how more desirable it is considered than the 1198R and 1199R. Is being an homolgation special reason enough ? Andy

  11. Didn't realise what was on her till i tallied it up just now :)
Id love to get her on a set of scales for an accurate dry weight.

  12. You'd have to tie her down, she'd float away otherwise. :Wideyed:

  13. Nick the missus' ones out of the bathroom!

  14. You saying his missus weighs similar to a Ducati Superbike? That could be fighting talk. :Nailbiting:
