My alternator / rectifier wires do the same (out of the top)..........just not in such a pretty cabling........... Same with the pick-ups cable (out of the front).........
Just read the whole thread, hope your wife is doing as well as possible. fantastic work, the bike is looking great. Where are you in Spain? My parents live in Torrevieja just south of Alicante. I had to smile when you mentioned Chinese supermarkets! We don't have them in the UK but for those unfamiliar, in Spain there are Chinese owned and run supermarkets which vary from tiny to absolutely massive, usually named something like Merca China or Bizzar Asia. They sell absolutely anything as long as it's made in China - very handy for things like plastic boxes, and small items. When I was in one a couple of years ago I bought this little fellow! I had to name him Chairman Meow!!! And yes, he does wave!
Ha Ha!! :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: You're right Phil. Those pesky waving cats are everywhere here in Spain. They are supposed to guarantee happyness, wealth, good luck, fertility, no hair loses, success and your team winning the champions... (or at least one of those things, but I would not put all my money on them though.) I live in Madrid, qute faraway from Torrevieja, but we have a summer house in Altea also in Alicante, so I credit your parents for their good taste. (maybe is due to the cat..) Wifey is coming algong well. All the previous treatment has dramatically reduced the size of the tumor and next wednesday she is going to surgery to get the remaining parts of the alien fully eradicated. (real good news). She is tired and weak. But strong in mind and fully determinate to get rid of this pest as soon as possible. Braiding the wiring system of the bike has been a nightmare, but judging for all your comments, it has worth all the effort. I did not lke at all the state of the original cabling (painted, dirty, and wrapped beyond repair in some points) so I bought some thermoresistant PVC brided sleeve from a computer store and thats the result. Some more pictures of yesterday. Rearsets in position. Sprocket and chain back in place, tensioned and firm. And the front fender cleaned, and polished!! Now she looks like a real bike. (a bit on the badass side, but a bike)
More advances made during this sunny and quiet easter period (Happy Easter to everyone :smiley A friend of mine said that this paint scheme made the bike "dangerously look" like a KTM! and it was loosing its italian character, If someone tells me that mi wife looks like Claudia Schiffer, I would not be very much worried, but, anyhow, I took his comments into consideration and made one little ammendment. I hope he now finds sufficient italian accent :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: Now, let's be serious Rear end back in place with re-polished rear light and recovered plastics Also front subframe in position and began rewiring Thanks a lot for the posted wiring diagram! it makes things much more easier:hearteyes: Wiring is a mess, and there is still all this loom to be put back in place :coldsweat::coldsweat: Should I do it before or after installing the battery box?. I,m building a new all alluminium battery box that will save space and allow using pod filters, and I'm wondering if the cables should be installed before it Any help on this? Also, I do not like the looks of the black zip ties over the orange frame I will search for Orange Zip ties Thats all for now, new carbies on their way, and painting season is getting closer. best Tom
Could always leave cable ties off altogether. For me they spoil the look, so with a couple of cable tie 'blocks' attached to the sides of the air box, and using clips from existing bosses, I've got rid of them all - much cleaner.
In my opinion wiring before battery box so you have better access to routing it. I love your bike, its looking great, Austritalian!
Ha Ha!! Elissa Landi (1904 - 1948) was also a famous "Austro Italian" beauty And, again, I would'n mind if someone tells me that my wife looks like her :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
Your wife looks just like her....... .....at least she did when I took her out a couple of weeks ago........... No, I'm not mistaken.............I wasn't born until after Elissa Landi died.
So, it was you! She mentioned something about going out with some friends for tea, but I did not pay too much attention. Hope you enjoyed the chatting :tonguewink: those ladies can be really overwhelming when they gather in packs
Having once spent the evening in a hotel with Helen M****n I reckon I can hold my own in agroup of ladieezz. As for your missus......................."Por favor" didn't work..............but I understood "F Off" very well.......
Some progress has happened over the past two weeks. First. I received a long awaited parcel with a pair of brand new carburetors. They correspond to a 750 Monster and are already prejetted to that specification. They will require some fiddling, but, as for now, I can continue the build up and later on fix the "breathing" issues that may pop up. Exahusts (nicely ceramic coated) also back in place Also finished the rear brake installation including a new brake light switch connected directly to the banjo bolt. I used this system on my previous build and I'm very satisfied with the results (less mechanical adjustment and also less deterioration due to dust, grease and all that stuff) Also, totally rebuilt and painted the clamp and hinges that secure the tank in position. Finally I started today wiring back the bike. I'm initally using some white zippers not very much tightened to try to figure out the proper way to reroute everything. (lots of trial and mistake here) Hopefully, next week I will have my new battery box finished from the lasercutter and will have the chance to finish all the wiring. This is all for now, By the way! Can anybody post a picture or tell me where the horn is attached to? Haynes is imprecise, and so is the manufacturer's service manual. thanks in advance.
Wow! that was fast. Thank you both for the quick response. As for the cable ties.. Funny! this are just the ones I have oredere in e-bay one week ago.
