Standard cans, with baffles, I definitely wouldn't want it any louder! And a Brucy bonus is that it'll be allowed on a track day!
There's a YouTube video of a chap installing his Termi's (it's not the best video, starts with odd music which thankfully ends) but he shows what to do. Basically grind the weld off the flapper and then take it all apart and seal the hole with some washers. I did it on my 1199 when I fitted the Termi's so don't have a direct comparison with standard cans before and after. There can't be that much difference between disconnecting it and removing it completely.
No, this one... (Same bloke) The bit you're interested in starts at about 4 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How difficult was the spot welds to grind off?? Also how do you get the spindle out and then seal it up? Bolt and nut like on the video?
It's a piece of piss, they're only little welds. You'll need a Dremel or similar to get in there though. The flapper and spindle drops right out, then you put a bolt with a nut and some washers on to seal it all up. Really not difficult at all, but not sure I'd want to take apart my exhaust system just to take it out if you've undone the cables already. Like I mentioned, I only did it as I had the system apart for fitting the termi's, I'm not going to do the same to my 899.
It's not a difficult job today Dremel off the welds undo the screws if you can I had to grind the heads off in the end, to remove the spindle I cut it in two with the dremel and pulled the two hafts out finally sealed the hole with a M8 bolt
It's not gonna cost me anything and will give me something to do while she watches all the shit of the day soaps
I got myself a spare flapper valves exhaust section of exhaust off eBay for 20 quid just in case I ever wanted to put it back to standard Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
What about the other side of the spindle? It's caped over but I can see daylight through where it's not welded
Think il just take it to work tomorrow and weld both ends closed properly. Don't want to build it up and then find out it's leaking!!
