I prefer keeping the look as OEM as possible so the original Ducati parts were a natural choice. And hunting for them is part of the fun Many of the DP parts were not offered by 3rd party manufacturers, such as the Mg parts.
I do prefer the red frame as well but it entails a hell of a lot of work just to achieve it if I wanted to change my silver frame.
Just a question, I at home keeping eBay in business with parts for my bike, my grey arm doesnt seem to have a long upper chain guard like your black s/arm available, I guessing holes to mount it aren't there, Are the carbon ones for black suitable if I drill and tap 2 m8 holes to mount, have you known it being done, with success that is?
Some of the above lists are quite extensive and sound expensive. So here's mine. 749 motor with 999 cylinders and Pistal racing Pistons =924cc. Ported heads and valve seats re cut. Termi symmetric 54mm system. RTD ecu. Ohlins trilogy. PI system 2 dash / logger. Home made fairing bracket and converted bip - mono subframe. Superduke radial calipers and 1098 discs. £20 hose set off fleabay. New brake & clutch lines from Atec. The build continues.
You mean the chain guard alone? It's integrated on the DP hugger but there are also standalone chain guards available. Not sure if they would look right on the older swingarm since the shape is totally different. There is also a hugger for the older swingarm which includes a small chain guard, part number 96958903B. @Sev The Akra will get mounted next winter along with an RS tail/seat. Didn't have time to fiddle with the tail light etc this year.
Thanks chap, That made me squint a bit, I have a slightly different carbon one at the moment, it ends in a spike in the centre of thru tyres, I think I'm just gonna finish up with a black top yoke and red centre stud this year, its gotta stop somewhere!!!
I'm considering swapping for a 999R frame next winter. It has the RS braces too. Need to have it painted first and I have no idea if I need any special tools for the project... But it would go nicely with the RS tail
@Sev RS frames are TIG welded (afaik) and they have different tank mounting brackets. The steering damper bracket also has two holes. Due to the homologation rules they aren't allowed to be much different than the road-going R frames. And no

Jusutus, that is the best xx9 I have seen! Stunning! Think my wish list is gonna grow from seeing this.....
Jusustus, where didi you order the tail light from? I've been looking for one of those, but shipping from the US is super expensive.
Have to agree. This has to be right up there in any list of the 'nicest' 999s in existence. Factor in that it is in regular use and it could very well be right at the very top. Nothing spared in terms of both time and money spent though...
Thank you for the kind words @Blakey749s and @Old rider @Tom Brands It was ordered from Radiantz via a US contact of mine and shipped from him to me to save on the shipping costs.
@jusutus I thought I liked to tinker !! Stunning job sir. And I like the fact it is a bit of a sleeper - you have to look quite closely to see the work that has gone in. As others have said probably the best example out there without going full F04, F05 racer. Well done. I think you've said you ride it not just work on it - what in your view has been the best mods to improve the bike? I've done a bunch of track days on mine and although we get passed by plenty of Pani's, I'm not finding fault with brakes and suspension. I do however desperately need a slipper clutch (separate post on that), so that is a clear next move for me.
