848/1098/1198 Radiator?

  1. Stuck a leak on my 848 radiator, it's a slow leak, but thinking replacing is probably better than attempting to braze it shut myself.

Anyone got a spare one sitting around?

  2. Had mine repaired two years ago at a radiator shop still 100% fine ...I have a brand new original on gumtree at £295 not fussed if it sells but money will help in other areas, ebay has some cheap alternatives or in Norfolk I know of a racing company that will make a radiator,i can dig you the name out if you need it but they may not be cheap.
The radiator shop I used was in Morley nr leeds I can also dig out their details if you need them but would think any specialist can have a go? It was very cheap too.

  3. Mmm, a brand new original would be nice, but kind of out my price range (eBay from China available for about £70).

Yeah, was thinking about getting it fixed, but I think the leak might be from the bracket rather than a stone/hole, so might be more tricky.

  4. Chinky rads rock ! :)

250 miles at the weekend with no concerns at all. You can't go wrong for £60. :upyeah:

  5. End of the day ducati should have replaced every radiator on the three models affected when they found out, if coolant had found it's way onto a tyre it's game over...then the court cases begin

  6. He your split link version holds up fella

  7. If it doesn't, it's £60 to put another one in :upyeah: not the £650 Ducati want for theirs.

  8. Jeez it's a rip off..touchwood for you anyway

  9. Cheers guys, will probably just pull the trigger on the Chinese job then!

  10. Give it a whirl ...bet you've spent £60 on a chinky before now..and had a headache day after for your troubles :)

  11. There's one on gumtree in Leeds. Says it's new. I think he wanted £300 odd and looks like it comes with the fans.

  12. I know this is a rather old post, but can you let me know the racing company in Norfolk who might be able to make a radiator for a Ducati? I realise it might not be cheap but neither is an OEM replacement!

    Thanks

  13. @Robarano went for a Chinese one off of eBay and said it is fine/good quality, he may find you a link if you have been a good boy...

  14. Yep, my Chinese rad has been in the bike for a while now and I've had no issues.

I can't find the original link, but all of the ones on eBay look to be very similar. Link. They have went up a bit in 18 months and now seem to be around the £100 mark, still considerably cheaper than the £650 Ducati part that people have issues with.

The story of my Chinese rad.

  15. I have a chinky one on my track bike...No probs so far.

  16. I have one with a small leak. From my 1198. I replaced it with a fleabay one. But anyone can have it if they pay postage. Or if they wish to pick it up. May be useful to keep own bike on road whilst using this one for repair.
