I listened to the vid and had the same thought as every other bike I've seen with AR/Racefit exhausts in this GP style, but before I say it could be the microphone and I'm sure sounds better in real life.... I just didn't think the pipe gives it any 'tone' the sound is raw which some love but to me I like to hear a tuned sound. My 848 evo had a really nice tone, it sounded smooth and rich. My 899 even with termi's is quite mechanical and 'pappy' and this sounds like more extreme version of that. Onto more positive! The weight is going to be a big help, I'm sure it saves a lot! And it's a fresh look as I suspect many with have the Akrapovic slip ons. Also the costing is hard to ignore compared to the other options. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Phill I think some of it is my cameras microphone. It never gives a true reflection of the sound. I made a video of my Blade with the new Akra exhaust and it sounds nothing like what it is in real life. It is the loudest pipe I have ever had on ANY bike I have owned or seen !
There's definitely an art to getting sound right... My go pro 4 makes my rsv4 sound like a sewing machine.... There's very few videos that capture sound well on you tube....
My first comments were that it was at the wrong angle totally, but having seen a few fitted I think it looks okay. I have seen Akrapovic Shotguns advertised for £1000 so these are still about £250 cheaper? and I imagine a bit lighter.
Interested to know if it sounds any different as it still retains the cat box, on a multi changing the end can makes very little difference sound wise until you remove the cat.
I like it, but may I just add that the op was able to remove the rear pegs, just my pence worth and a big plus for me. I think I'm the only one with a rear peg issue. Still looks good though.
The trouble with most GoPro videos is people use the waterproof casing. The open back door gives pretty good results. Here's a vid of my cousins best friend on an 899 with termi's. GoPro has the two slotted back door and is attached to the helmet via a couple of Velcro straps (not the best angle). Watch with good headphones -
Hi, I disable the exhaust valve cable to check if it sound louder but the engine management light came on so I re connected it but the light is still flashing. Does anyone know how I can get the light to go out or do I have to contact the dealer?
We also disconnected the valve and the light came on. Once you refit the cable and ride the bike the light goes out. On the AR website they only show the new cans but my brother wanted the angled exit so they made INE up for him and have now added it to the range. Much cheaper paying 'cash'
I refit the cable and ride the bike for about 10min and the flash is still there. Do I have to ride it longer for the light to goes out?
His light went out before he got to the end of the street. You have put it back into the correct hole I presume ? It goes into the first hole where it is easy to get in. It also fits in the second hole but the cable is very tight and this leaves the light on.
Okey thanks, I will try to refit the cable today. My light is the engine, not that with a warning triangle.
I run the bike for about 20min then i turn the ignition off and on. Engine flash where not there anymore
