SHES ALIVE!! :screamcat::screamcat::flushed::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tonguewink::tonguewink::sweatsmile::sweatsmile: Rough but timing need sorted for high comps. 2 years work and started first time!
It passed MOT!!!! So happy, running a bit rough at idle but once going sounds awesome. Baffles still in too, mwahahah. Gotta get it set up at dyno methinks.
One of the magazine articles i have is about tuning. One of the contributors thinks that just taking the baffles out of original cans ruins the mid range. I'll dig out the article and list some of the points...
Ok, so shes running pretty well other than the fact I am getting a vacuu n the tank. I lose fuel supply and have to stop, open the tank, get a hiss of air then prime pump and I am away again for some time until it does it again. I have changed the check valve on the breather at the tank front as it was goosed. Its a lot better but still now and again its stopping the fuel flow. Any ideas?
Firstly try running it without the breather valve or with the tank cap latched but not fully closed...........Don't brake hard etc.......those breather valves are a PITA. Secondly.............did you clean the tiny inline filter in the fuel line T piece at the carbs?
not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs here but have you cleaned out the tank vent spigot? I use an old clutch cable, just feed into the spigot then back and forth to ensure all clear, another trick on a warm sunny day (hah!) stand the bike in the warmth and remove the tank vent hose, hold a piece of white card underneath the spigot and observe fuel vapour shadow upon the card, then replace vent valve and repeat, if you don't see vapours it's not working. EDIT: by the way, how are those forks performing?
