Good news. Had a very successful 2 hours on the rollers this afternoon. Spent an hour running in and some mapping correction for the increase in cc's & safe ignition map. Then dial'd some more advance and tried to improve rolling on throttle. Which is still pretty poor and affected the power run low down. Then managed a couple of power runs. Best of which was 130.19bhp at the wheel. There should be more to come. It was lean at the top. And the ignition was still on the conservative side. So I've got tons of data to sift through to correct the fueling. Then hope to be back on the rollers to see what's what. But needless to say. I'm really happy with the performance today. :Cigar:
I've got to say a huge thank you too Ian at Rhodes and Track in Northampton for trusting me on his lovely dynojet rollers. If your based in the area I strongly recommend using his services. Top bloke. Rhodes & Track
Quick update from last night. My evening was spent mostly filling & flatting bloody body work. :Banghead::Banghead::Banghead: Bloody hate flatting down. Anyway. It's done and I'm dropping it off for painting today.
Nope. Wet flatted by hand. It's all @ our wind tunnel for paint. 1ltr of gloss black. And a 7 day turn around time. I'd better use the time to have a final look over the mongrel and look for a shake down date. Oh and just had to order a new set of Alpinestars since the old ones are now scrap!
Spent an hour or two on the 924 last night. I checked belt tension now they've run for 2 hours. I was surprised how much movement the idler and tensioner bearings had? I even removed the tensioner to check the bearing but they feel fine. Anyone else have an opinion on bearing float??
I ran my 1098 after a belt change last week and there was no visible float in the tensioner or idler pulleys.
Update from tonight. Investigated my belt pulley float and discovered the bearings are C4 (not the explosive) and one of them had more float than the others. So I bought some C3 spec (reduced float) and I'm much happier with how they feel. Right or wrong it just seems the best solution. Right then. It's ready Oh apart from the body work. It's still @ paint. And another run on the rollers.(ideally?) So last week I booked a debut date on 20th July. Alas. Not anymore. As I know have to fill in at the Hungarian Gp. Bollocks. Debut tbc!
Great build, and I really love the Ferrari style cam covers, they really do look ace! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wrinkle red off fleabay. i have an early bip version which attaches to the rear tank / seat fixing. And extends beyond the rear of the seat. I've foil taped the inside of the tail with heat reflective tape. When it's assembled I'll post a photo.
Ah, thanks. I was just wondering if anyone has left the heat shield off completely. I believe the temperatures are completely different between the OEM cat box and a free-flowing Termi silencer.
