  3. Today's update...

    Installing the tail lights. Using the same stock connectors, just re-pinned

    All the wiring in the frame is internal

    Machined a snap-ring from aluminium to hold the tail-light in place

    Got the exhaust back from ceramic coating

    Then sent the bike off to get it's forward facing exhaust made up...

    It looks like this...

    New headlight and dash bracket goes on

    Stock dash fits perfectly

    Made a leather cover for the dash bracket and stitched it on.

    And you can wait till tomorrow for more...

  4. Can't wait to see the end result. I know it's more of a personal thing for you but you could make some money on these if you started doing custom builds.

    But you gotta do what you gotta do...

    The problem with most panigale naked builds is what to with the electrics... here is my solution... make some "saddle bags"

    Stock electrical trays with the extra bits cut off (only irreversible MOD on the whole build)

  7. Don't know of his is a ridiculous comment to make or not, will you not get back pressure on that exhaust when riding?

  9. I can really appreciate the engineering and work going into this project but I still don't understand why you buy a brand new bike and turn it into something else. Surely an old shed would have been easier to do?

    And I'm afraid it's not flicking my switch, as I prefer the sports bike look anyhow.

    But well done on the hard work so far :)

  11. An old bike doesn't come with traction control and ABS and 150hp with RBW throttle and the handling that goes with decades of development... but I understand your sentiment... I have a habit for doing things that most people wouldn't consider "normal"

  13. Ok I get that but (to me) it seems a real shame to have butchered (IMO) a work of art.

    But I will be interested in seeing the final results. You never know, you may "turn my head" :p

    Love the quality of the various engineering solutions and appreciate your dedication to the task at hand.

    Pity you are not in Nottingham as I'd contract you with some bits on my 900 Monster ;)

    Made these for a mates monster... new headlight brackets for a dual LED setup

    Can easily design stuff for you if your happy to give CAD files to your local fabricator or wait for postage

  16. Bracket holding a carbon wind deflector. Air will then flow around the exhaust opening, leaving the exhaust gases free to leave?

  19. Each to their own. As has been said already, I originally liked the concept but not so keen on the leather adornments. Smacks too much of a Hardly Abelson

  20. I'm in awe of the craftsmanship here. Really, hats off to you and your family.

    But the hairy ball analogy. Not sure how you came by that experience, but live and let live an all that
