Right... so after months of punching holes in leather, I got on to something that I enjoy a bit more... CAD design... new seat bracket. Apart from having more padding the seat is an inch higher at the back and 1-3/4 higher at the front to stop me from sliding into the tank all the time. Then I began work on the side panels. 1.6mm aluminium sheet. Beat into shape with a hammer, some dolly's and a couch cushion The other side After many hours of work Then paint time... I don't really care about paint as I wanted the bike to look like it was built 90 years ago, so it's all done in rattle cans Spray two colours Sand back Mask up Done That'll do for now Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk
Surely your leather should be a bit more 'vintage' to match the panels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Each to their own, not my cup of tea and I'm hardly in a position to criticise as most of that is out of my skill set. Is there a theme in mind, as it looks a little disjointed? The metal panelwork looks a little like something I made in 4th year metalwork. Not a dig at your work, I'm with El T though. But then I have a 999, what do I know about aesthetics?:nomouth:
There us a theme in mind, buts it's as disjointed and eclectic as you think it is. Which as far as I'm concerned is a perfect reflection of self The metal work is my first attempt, and will be redone during stage 2. Basically I'm not happy with it but it will do for now. Right... Tuesday update Made myself a backrest... And painted the tank 3 different colours underneath... Finished with blue Then sanded back to create a worn effect Then black over the areas that I didn't want to stand out and a few coats of clear to finish off before hitting it with some fine sand paper just to take the shine off some areas Realized I missed posting a few "normal" mods earlier... Throttle spacer kit Lightened generator kit went in New vs old Sprint filter ready to go with the upmap that I got from SIMMYTT... NFI how to tag people Total spend ~$4500 Aus Hrs 500+ Elapsed build time 9 months Tomorrow's update will involve tentacles Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk
Right, last warning carry on 'showing off' like this and I'll start reminding you that we stuffed you lot 3-0 at rugby in your own back yard this year and you 'bloody Aussies' weren't even on the same page as us on the Rio medal tables. Keep it coming its going to be bloody awsome, dont listen to the rest of them they're just jealous.
I'm appreciating all the intricate work, seriously I am. But I am deeply disturbed by the fact that (in my opinion), you've turned something like this..... Into something like this ..................
So what you're saying is that I've taken the work of a psychotic delusional alcoholic and turned it into something that is very personal to you? Thanks, that's overwhelmingly nice of you [emoji12] Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk
Cheers, although I have no problem with ElToros' (or anyone else's) comments at all. When you take the motorcycle equivalent of the Mona Lisa and turn her into Taarna you have to expect that some people won't like what you're doing Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk
I am very curious as to how it will end up. Maybe the sum of all the parts will do it for me. I do hope so.
I like the lower cardboard fairings instead of the metal ones :tearsofjoy:. Looks awesome, can't wait to see it fully finished!
