I fitted a Nitron shock from my 1199 to my 899. There was a small issue with part of the top mounting eye fouling on the 899 linkage, but this just meant I had to mount the shock upside down, i.e. the markings on the spring are now hidden but it's just a cosmetic difference rather than anything mechanical. So, with a little Poirot style deduction, are we safe conclude that the 899 & 959 shocks are interchangeable, the 1199 fits the 899.....and the 1199 fits the 1299......drum roll...... Then surely the 1299, 1199, 959 & 899 are all interchangeable??? Obviously don't take my word for it, I haven't even got a panigale yet

@flatstick959, can you please take some photos of how you used the teflon spacer and sleeve when you have installed the damper? Couldn't quite figure out the best way to fit my new Ohlins on my 1299.
Here you go http://s1110.photobucket.com/user/elbowsg450x/media/C5534292-FD22-4D06-955D-7ED1F4888159_zps9vz5rohu.jpg.html][/URL]
Also the instructions say to cable tie the brake reservoir pipe out of the way but mine wasn't touching. Not sure if it's different on 1199 and 899 - I think they have different mounting brackets for the reservoirs
Thank you @flatstick959 I did it the same way but there seems to be a gap between the chassis and the damper. Seems like there should be a spacer at the bottom in addition to the one on the top.
Would we say that the ohlins damper is worth while on the 899, I've never really felt a problem with the standard one on the 899... 1199/1299 though is well and truly under gunned for the job!
Probably not but just a nice enhancement. All the carbon and machines bits of tat I've put on it aren't really serving a purpose either.
Just had the big service done. Ouch Also removed the mirrors for indy blank offs (very pleased with them, very bright on a pitch black m25 last night) New puig grips and screen too.
Nice, looks much better without the mirrors. I did mine a few months ago and thought it was also much quieter with less wind noise?
They are Oberon street fighter mirrors, 60mm. They are small but I find them better because they are now in a more useful position.
ACF 50'd the shit out of it. I put enough on to cover an aircraft carrier. In unrelated wonderings, does having a bit of ACF 50 on the brakes and tyres matter? I'm hoping it will burn off in the first few miles of careful riding.
