1200 DVT Ducati Sat Nav

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Jack%, Jan 26, 2017.

  1. Hi, I connected my sat nav to my bike via Bluetooth and I can see the symbol on the dash showing the connection but I can't see the benefit of this. Nothing seems to be happening between the sat nav and the bike. Does anyone know is there any benefit for this connection?

  2. It seems that it's intended to be linked to a smartphone not a satnav?

  3. Nothing in isolation, as Ash says, via a smartphone and intercom system the dash will show call information and mute announcements accordingly.

  4. You would need to link it to an intercom/headset to feel the benefit. Also you can link you phone and use the bike as a hub to control the functions. If you have the App on your phone you can link the bike to this as well.

  6. I think I get it I first connected my phone to the bike and then got a Schuberth with built in Cardo bluetooth & intercom system so I connected my phone to this instead. I will just connect my sat nav to helmet and all should be well Ducati should send customers on a 3 month course to understand all their tech Thanks for the feedback guys. Safe riding.

  8. Yes Jack, you can connect the Sat Nav to the intercom, but if you use the bike as the hub you should connect the intercom, phone and sat nav to the bike, then you can use this to control everything.

There are a few other threads on the subject to keep you entertained!

And you can also connect the APP. Mine is a bit flaky, you have to remember to turn it on before each ride and it seems to forget the data when you stop, they may have updated this now.

  12. I found it to be total shite and just use the Bluetooth , the only real advantage I could see was the persons name who was calling came up on the screen of the bike........wit woo.....
It's ruined the " fuck I shouldn't have answered that " lottery that I had before , took it all off and use it conventionally

  13. How deep are your pockets ? The latest Garmin 595 is getting top reviews but is hugely expensive. It gets my vote because the screen is the biggest, just got to save up my pennies. Andy

  14. Like all things, it's down to personal preference. I bought a Tomtom Rider 400 and I'm more than happy with it. Route planning is done through MyRoute-app. I had intended to get a Garmin as they always seemed to get the better press/reader reviews. I had a play with a BMW Navigator for a few evenings and couldn't get on with route planning on the device. I also found the menus more complicated. After playing with the Tomtom in a shop, I found it easy to use. My Tomtom seems to do everything I need. My suggestion would be to try them out and see which you prefer.

  17. I should have added, I would much appreciate your opinion on the 595 especially if you think it's worth the extra. Thanks, Andy

  18. I was punting on fleabay for a newish 2nd hand 590LM, it went for £371. Decision made & went for the latest version with a warranty!

  19. I don't get it, I have a iPhone 6s £600. Why spend £400 on a nav only device ??
