My story begins with a sad and unloved 2003 999s that I purchased in March 2011. It was a none offical Airwaves replica, it was a good job but was looking tired. Infact the whole bike was looking tired but I gave it a service and used it over the summer of 2011. Come the winter it was sorned and stripped Frame powder coated red but came out orange!! So was wet painted the correct hue 2005> black swing arm Ohlins reworked by Kais Wheels painted black Body work repainted Yokes power coated black Samco blue hoses Under slung rear caliper Miv link pipe as the older link pipe did not fit with the black swing arm New oil cooler Billet rearsets DP race seat 1" taller Carbon front mudguard Carbon rear hugger wavey rear disc Replaced wheel bearings Replaced swing arm beaings New pistons and seals in the front calipers along with new pads 14t-38t gearing And after all that and about 1500 miles later the main bearings went west and it all had to be pulled apart again, so its now sported in a much later 999s engine
Hi All New here but thought I would add mine! Titanium termis, Ducabike rearsets, Speedymoto top yoke, wood craft clip ons, brembo master cylinders. some other bits of bling! And an action shot in Cartagena from November
I'd like to nominate a couple of other members' bikes.... Austrian Piero's MTS1200.....very pretty with stacks of mods - details here: Motorcycle Info Pages - Featured MTS1200's > Piero Custom MTS1200S ....and a video 'walk round' of Piero's bike And another really nice looking MTS1200 this time from Portuguese member Joao (JPMTS1200) More details on his bike here: Motorcycle Info Pages - Featured MTS1200's > JP's MTS1200 And last but not least (imho anyway [biased] lol) my own MTS1200....do you see the theme here? .....lots of subtle mods many DIY solutions (some 'cos I like to fiddle and the budget's tight, some as way back in 2010 the accessories/parts options were limited!). More details here: Motorcycle Info Pages - 'How to' & FAQs > Andy's Custom MTS1200 bits! P1 ....my bike is in the next photo also ;-)
