Tyre warmers keep tyres at low heat cycles as well. So your tyres will be doing 6/7 heat cycles a trackday whereas with warmers would only be one.
Yes i understand its recommended that i MUST NOT put tyre warmers on with road tyres as they really are not designed for them. Big no no from TOP BRIDGESTONE guy great for slicks different compound in road tyres os something like that lol what do i bloody know i just ride the thing lol lol. Even the guy at Michelin said DONT use tyre warmers and to be honest I've done a few track days and never ever used them. And i ride ok so Mr Rymer says lol
So they're saying their tyres shouldn't get hot when ridden? All a tyre warmer does is warm the rubber to around operating temperature. It doesn't cook them. Lol
Just saying what I've been told lol not by somebody in the pub as I've never ever drank anyway lol lol Again I'm happy not to use them I've been ok so far and I'm not trying to break lap records lol and less stuff to pack away when I'm going lol
Sorry that's wrong Trevor. No problem with warmers on road tyres, in fact better Try 26 rear next time out, see if it cleans the rear up
To be honest, if these Powers are supposed to tear up 1" an " in they seem a bit shit to me. You are running Michelin recommendation at 28 cold rear. I will try 26 cold on my next TD.
It's not the tyre. I've done track days for years on all different bikes, tyre sizes, brands from road to slicks. It's suspension or pressures. My track bike has standard suspension and tyres wear perfect every track day after perfecting pressures and suspension setup.
Just stuck a set of these on today. £210 fitted after £30 cash back can't be bad. Shame they lost one of my OZ metal dust caps though and I didn't notice the crappy plastic one in its place till I got home! Yet to try the bike but I set at the pressures as I used with supercorsa SP from the 1299 manual (33 front 30.5rear) Michelin website just says to set as per manufacturer spec... What pressures are everyone else running?

Nice, they are great tyres very pressure sensitive though so really cannot comment on my machine, though I do run front at 32 psi and rear at 34 psi anything less on my machine makes the rear squirm all over the shop probably due to my suspension settings. They are very soft and my set after almost 1800 miles are beginning to square off and the front wears just as quick as the rear, so will have to change both soon. Grip is unbelievable on the road though so worth every penny!!!
Id say just from picture you're over heating the tyre when powering out of a corner. Too soft suspension. Although these arnt track tyres after a lot of trial and error I can get stock suspension on a 600rr to wear tyres perfectly and I'm just entering fast group now on trackdays. When I started out my tyres used to do the same.
Yeah definitely. If only to get more for your money from the trackday. I go fast straight off the bat on warmers.
