(nicking fruit from gardens) the grand national running through gardens and jumping the hedges. plying chickomellie. a long length of thread with a pin on the end and a button 5" from the end, you would pin the thread to the window and hide in the undergrowth and gently and repeatedly pull the other end of the thread causing the button to knock on the window sill. drove the inhabitants nuts.*falling down laughing* ahh the good ol daaays.
