More revs = more fuel per mile? I do use the gearbox and the revs more on the V4 than I did on the 1260 I'm sure.
Had the same problem and ended up bending the steel strip on the switch down a bit so that the rear brake lever had to move more before the switch...

The Multi V4S (and other V4s) do not have an exhaust flap - thankfully :) You could leave it on the 950 no issues.
