100% yes, I had a no gravity one, although lighter and all but after speaking to my meccanic and checked on forum I went for a normal one and since then no regrets
So just had clarification on this, during the service they hook it up to diagnostics for updates etc with the ignition on but not the engine for whatever reason. I haven’t ridden it since it’s been back so I’m guessing that’s all it is and it just needs a long run!
My experience using lithium batteries has only been positive (). Had one on 2 bikes now. Both with lead acid drained quite a bit in a short space of time yet my lithium ones barely budge. I just checked my current levels and its at 12.9V after a month of no running. Yet, my lead acid one would be down to about 11V after 2-3 weeks if I didn't have it on charge. Maybe I've not been using them enough to have any negative experiences.
Shido both times. No complaints. They are much more recoverable too should the worst happen and they do drain significantly. Current battery state and not been on for 4 weeks. Has a tracker installed too which likes to use some juice. Not been on charge at all over this period.
The lithium battery in my '16R is the original Skyrich item. Never had any issues. Just as reliable as lead acid as far as my experience goes. Has only been topped up with the charger that came with the bike, so no fancy investment in that dept either.
The main issue with lithium batteriee is using a compatible charger that will not output more than 15v maximum. If the bikes charger or your trickle are not lithium specific with over charge protection circuitry, then there is a risk of over heating and the battery combusting
It's not a problem as there are plenty of lithium chargers on the market. The packaging even says to use one normally.
