Yes i”ve seen it, but i am having mine painted in the Original Verde with grey wheels, they are doing Silver stickers for me, but i am having the seat Logos changed from Reloaded to Reimagened. Just can’t wait to get it back now
We went for a 2-days bike trip two week-ends ago, in Auvergne, just south-west of Clermont-Ferrand, in France. That’s about 2 hours from us. Trip was organized with our Planète Ducati forum group. High grounds (1000m-ish) so usually damp and chilly in late October. But not this year. This year, fall has been absolutely fabulous, save a couple thunderstorms here and there The Matrix with the Dymag wheels was the perfect bike for this trip. Fantastic feeling all the way! It looks like a track, doesn’t it? Well it’s not. It’s just the pass between Chambon-sur-Lac and le Mont Dore, road D36.
The Dymag hoops are magnifique on this Matrix! Earlier this year one did very well at auction: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-ducati-998-testastretta-4/
I'm not sure if your interested or have one of these matching items in your collection, maybe a christmas present from the other half.? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/29537141...rentrq:d76f2a6b1840acb4ab6a109bfffb7530|iid:1
Thank you! As you guessed, I already have this item in my collection. But it’s very nice of you to have posted this link here. Now, for anyone interested, this Minichamps 1/12 replica of the 996 Matrix is an absolute beauty. And the one posted above is at a very good price too! Here are a few other « Matrix » items I gathered around this bike.
I successfully connected JPDIAG diagnostic tool on the Matrix today. First time user as I have a Mathesis for the 916. After reading A LOT about how JPDIAG should be set up and used to work properly on the dedicated forum: https://jpdiag.xooit.eu/index.php I pulled the trigger on the LONELEC cables: https://www.lonelec.com/product/guzzidiag-3pin-interface-cable-kit/ Downloaded the JPDIAG software (v.28): http://jpdiag.akress.com/download.php Read some more and… Voilà! Engine OFF: Engine ON: I have to say I am really happy it worked at my first attempt, as the reading of others misfortunes can be rather discouraging… I had a blast starting the fuel pump or the fans from my laptop, fiddling with the rev counter needle, visualizing the TPS degrees move as I turn the throttle, and so on. You know… Now, on to (non-linear) TPS (manual) reset, cylinders synchro and CO adjustment (aiming at 5%). I’ll be following Brad Black’s check list, like I did on the 916. Worked a treat! http://www.bikeboy.org/998748rthrottleb.html
All done! TPS zero’d out perfectly so I didn’t have to mess with it. The master idle crew (horizontal cylinder) was too tight with 2.9 degrees, which kept a rather high idle (1400 rpm). I set it back down to 2.3 as recommended in the shop manual. I then synched the two cylinders. Access to the set-up elements is significantly more difficult than on a 916. You really want to select your tools and try things before putting the air box and tank back on. And have a telescopic magnet handy! Access to the throttle linkage balance adjustment screw is stupid, when compared to the 916 throttle body. With that done, I hooked the bike to JPDIAG and to my AFR gauge and I set the CO to a good 5.5% (12.4 AFR), which is richer than the factory setting but better for engine performance. Here’s how it is explained in the workshop manual: I really had a blast doing all this!
Went for a ride yesterday afternoon. Super happy with the injection settings. Now just as her great sister (916), this bike will be exposed on a dedicated Tamburini stand next weekend at the Salon moto in Lyon. I gave it a good clean before it goes and couldn’t resist taking a few detailed pics.
