RIP John Dempsey. An unsung hero of Chelsea's 1970 FA Cup & 1971 European Cup Winners Cup winning teams and the scorer of a stunning volley in that 1971 final. Thanks for the memories John, rest easy.

RIP JD Souther. Co-writer of some of the Eagle's greatest hits (New Kid in Town, Heartache Tonight, Best of My Love amongst others), he also wrote for Bonnie Raitt & James Taylor, sang on albums by Don Henley & Christopher Cross and co-produced Linda Rondstadt. He also co-wrote The End of the Innocence with Henley.

Here he's singing harmony with James Taylor on a track he co-wrote.

Terrible shame, I liked the two of them boating, even if the constant hitting into other boats made me shout at the telly.

 

agree, I know they had a support crew with them but they were brave to take on some of those water routes at their age.

Concur entirely, was on Denali in Alaska when the 2 Jabs Prescott story ran, legendary.

A smooth but tough guy. John Prescott was an authentic LAB politician with principles. When he smacked that guy -who was younger and bigger than him- he got the respect of the entire country.
