RIP John Dempsey. An unsung hero of Chelsea's 1970 FA Cup & 1971 European Cup Winners Cup winning teams and the scorer of a stunning volley in that 1971 final. Thanks for the memories John, rest easy. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/john-dempsey-1946-2024
RIP JD Souther. Co-writer of some of the Eagle's greatest hits (New Kid in Town, Heartache Tonight, Best of My Love amongst others), he also wrote for Bonnie Raitt & James Taylor, sang on albums by Don Henley & Christopher Cross and co-produced Linda Rondstadt. He also co-wrote The End of the Innocence with Henley. Here he's singing harmony with James Taylor on a track he co-wrote. RIP JD, thanks for some fantastic memories.
Terrible shame, I liked the two of them boating, even if the constant hitting into other boats made me shout at the telly.
agree, I know they had a support crew with them but they were brave to take on some of those water routes at their age.
John Prescott. I ain’t no lefty but he was a likeable fella. Smacking protesters- go on lad RIP…. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/ce9gp7eke44t
A smooth but tough guy. John Prescott was an authentic LAB politician with principles. When he smacked that guy -who was younger and bigger than him- he got the respect of the entire country. RIP
Didn’t the guy throw an egg at Prescott? If someone assault’s you like that you have the right to defend yourself. Good on him. Obviously Johnny 2 Jags didn’t like the rebrand and decided to checked out. He’s probably right, time will tell. RIP.
RIP Terry, you gave me hours of enjoyment when younger with your gentle sense of humour , and will never forget your lucky red shirt, not to mention your skill as a player.
RIP Terry. He set a great example of how to carry fame and not forget your roots. Humble is often an understatement. Wishing him many 147s up there!
To steal a phrase from the wonderful Ted Lowe, "He's gone for the long rest." RIP Terry, you were a pleasure to watch with a great sense of humour.
