Going do a post on it sometime. In brief, an authorised dealer misfitted the replacement water pump, which let coolant drain in to the engine oil. Luckily it was only ridden for 3 days post pump replacement in 2019 then parked up for 5 years during covid and while I played on a S1000RR.
Mainly big end shell scoring, which were replaced. Thankfully the crank etc was ok. The oil had turned in to what the mechanic best described as slugs, and bond itself on to all the internals. From the rockers to the gearbox everything needed stripping and cleaning. It was a big bill.
oh dear, this is the kind of post that worries me. I'm already thinking I don't know where to take the R for a service. Fear of broken fasteners, chaffed wiring etc etc. and now miss-fitted water pumps!!
