I haven’t asked but should there be a new RS for 2026 with the chassis and suspension updates the 2025 PP got ? Andy
Bound to be, now that I've bought a 2025! I did ask the dealer, they said they haven't heard about it yet, and if it does come, it won't be until the end of the year at the earliest. The 2025 is Euro 5.5, so is the latest version. If your dealer says differently, let me know! Edit - I don't think the 2025 Pikes Peak got any suspension or chassis updates did it? I was looking at one on Saturday, and other than the plastics, the only difference was different graphics in a couple of the riding modes. Which could probably be done via a software update. As the RS has only been out just over a year, they'd be pissing a lot of people off if they refresh it so soon; I'm sure Ducati normally wait around 3 years before they update models, don't they?
@Multirider75 top purchasing skills! I don’t think you’ll regret this, they’re essentially the same bike with different power delivery. I look forward to hearing and seeing all about it!
I bought my RS because I wanted it, it was my Birthday present & will likely be the very last bike I own. I still have my 1260S (equipped with Rapid Bike) but it's an entirely different animal (like an angry beast) than the V4 RS. I have full systems on both but I did it to maintain performance as well as drop a considerable amount of weight. I've never owned a PP but did own a S1000XR (with a full system) and loved it ( even if you had to be turning 10k rpms). The RS is more quiet than my 1260S or my S1000XR was........ Maybe it's just me but I like full systems!!!!
What a dreadful decision to have to make, choosing between a PP or an RS . Enjoy the new bike, I'll be very interested in a comparison. When's it arrive?
Only software fiddle on the PP suspension nothing special, more support in sport, more comfort in touring. Still Ohlins 2.0 same as before, not updated to 3.0 like the Panigale
That’s pretty much what mine will look like. I was unsure about the tank pads, but those look OK, so I’ve ordered those too.
Question to those with an RS; does it come with the carbon screen or tinted screen, from the factory?
This is the first multi I've owned and wanted a sporty version (not that any of them are slouches) so it was going to be a PP, or the RS Ducati wise I came from, a 1198S, 1299s, and a V4S (Panigale) all with full systems bla bla bla. so a long sports bike history starting in the 70s with a Laverda Jota. Anyway me and the misses decided to taken early retirment and she happened to mention coming out on the bike. Now me thinks if she changes her mind 6 months down the line I want a bike Im happy to live with for a couple of years. So this is why I went for the RS. Parts I fitted. Evoteck tailtidy with the scrolling indicators. Main stand, heated grips, the matching panniers. The alloy brake and clutch reservoirs and because it's a keyless ignition I changed the fuel cap to keyless. I did toy with the performance exhaust but after 9 months of ownership I'm not decided. Im not desperate for a few more horse power or the sound but it would be nice to lose the wieght. I nearly forgot a Ducati Performance rear hugger. This does boil my blood a bit. You pay 32K for a bike and you still have to pay extra if you want a carbon hugger. The only positive in the over priced accessories is I manaed to get them all with a 25% discount from the Ducati store last summer.
That looks fantastic. I've bitten the bullet and gone for the panniers as well, but really don't like panniers if I'm honest. I'm on the lookout for some red decals to break them up a bit. I've seen the Vulturbike ones, but the wording on them looks crap! You need a new mat, by the way!
