Chain Oiler / Scottoiler

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by vau, Feb 15, 2014.

  1. Comes with the nibs if that's what you are referring to. Couple of sites are giving the dual injector free with the v system. Think manp are last time I checked. You have to dig into their site to find it though and select the kit with the free dual injector from the drop down list

  2. I am not the manufacturer.
I Provide only the 3D data there for all available.
Manufacturer of the laser-sintered part is the Company Shapeways.
What you can order from Shapeways is just the blank.
You have to clean the holes with a drill ( There are still residues
from printing it ). Then you have to fix the oil lines with epoxy resin.
Then you must close the cross hole with silicone or epoxy resin.
The line you get, for example, in EBay.
    Check for Scottoiler vacuum line.

  4. I can see there's a bit of design and engineering gone into this but, come on, drilling and glueing? After paying $37.08? Sorry, I'm out.

  5. For the genuine dual injector you have to pay the same price and you
    must manufacture a modified mounting.
Say me whats the difference ?
    Once again:
I`am not the manufacturer of the print parts and I earn no money with it.
I just give the Idea and the 3D Datas.
If you are searching for a solution you can use my ideas if its helpfull.

  6. Understood - which is why I didn't buy the genuine dual injector. I like this alternative design but I thought this was being sold as a complete solution and, imho, for the money shouldn't need any drilling, glueing or anything else? If the manufacturer ever decides to finish the product off (drill, glue etc) before dispatch then I, for one, would buy it. There you go. :upyeah:

  7. This looks like a neat solution. The only thing I would say is this looks like it has to be mounted on the outside of the chain slide given its shape. I personally think (and have done so) that any fixing should go between the slide and the swing arm. That way any chain bounce would hit the slide and not grab the fixing. I understand that due to the mounting location so near the sprocket the chances are slim to none , but I still could not put something on the outside without having a nagging doubt when I ride. The slight gap created by mounting it between the slide and the swing arm gives you a space to run the oil tube through also, assuming you want to run the feed to follow the abs/brake lines.
Great design though, you should send scottoiler a note as they are always looking to grow their penetration into the market place with additional mounting options.

  8. Hello,
the part is not in the direction of the chain.

  9. vau,

Very interested and my compliments on another neat design. I particularly like the built in clips for the feeder tube. :upyeah: I haven't been able to get on to the Shapeways site so far today (internet is very slow this morning over here unfortunately) but will do so shortly - hopefully.

One question - when I went on to the Shapeways site last week I didn't spot this accessory for sale? Did you design it very recently as a result of the discussions on this thread or was it already available before (and I'm just blind :wink:)?

    All the best, Mark

  10. +1 :D

Are you a design 'engineer' Vau?.........loving the technical drawings, what software do you use? Just curious ;-)

  11. Hello Mark,
you are not blind. I load it up to Shapeways this morning .
It was a result of the discussions, and not available before.
If I understand a problem i try to help .
It makes me just fun to find solutions
I hope it works like you need it.
Maybe you can post a picture after mounting it.

  12. Hello Andy,
I'm not an engineer, but I'm working at the company Audi
as Technical Buyer for Prototype- and Motorsport castings .
The Software I use is CATIA V5.

  13. I take my hat off to you sir and it's always nice to see someone take such an interest in what people are looking for (well me anyway ) and then do something positive about it.:upyeah:

Having managed to get on to the internet for more than a few seconds I've placed an order for the Scottoiler dual injector and will placing an order for the adaptor in a few minutes' time. Sadly it will be some time before I can post any pictures as I'm working abroad and not home for quite a while but I will definitely post some snaps once I'm back and it's all fitted.

Thank you for your efforts with this.

  14. Thanks Vau.........."Technical Buyer for Prototype- and Motorsport castings" for Audi, very interesting, think there may be a translation issue with 'castings' - not sure what you mean there (no criticism of your English which is excellent;-)

That's you partly introduced the :D......I guess you own an MTS1200?....which model?....post photos in the Photo Gallery ;-)

  15. Hello Andy
I know my English is very special , especially my grammar.....
I learned it 30 Years ago for a short time , and could not speak it often.
So I think i write in English - with an German grammar - and sometimes with the wrong words:tongue:.
    But I think it`s better than your German ? ....... :upyeah::wink::wink::wink:

To my work: I mean castings ( I have no other word ? ) which are produced in Foundries ( Cylinderheads, etc )
To my Motorcycles: I`am owner of an MTS 1200 S, MJ 2013 and of an Triumph Tiger 1050.

....and 'castings' was right then :upyeah:

  17. Thanks Vau for the design, had a bracket made up to yor drawings, it's a perfect fit & made a nice neat installation.
