My seals started leaking I bought a new set from the dealer but before fitting used a seal scraper. They stopped leaking. The new set are still in the drawer I reckon that they are a bit "loose" because any tighter and the nitride would be worn PDQ. As a result the muck and flys that get up there will cause them to leak alot sooner than maybevthey ought to
SKF seals may be worth considering. They'll fit and are known to be up there withe the best. Use them my self after having my fork serviced and Öhlins cartridge kit installed. All the best.

I had this problem on a set of ohlins on a RSVR i had and seems fairly well documented that the ohlin seals do this at a sniff of dirt (or a bit of standing around), i tried this from the USofA Fix Leaking Fork Seals With | SealMate.net also available on fleabay and it worked ! never had a problem again probebly the best £10er iv spent
Just bought one of these, not tried it yet as the bike with the issue (Ohlins Forks) isn't on the road at the moment, read good reports though...
Take the wheel of to get round the seal smoothly and it takes a bit of wiggling to get into place, but its a nice simple idea that works
I blew a seal on the first afternoon on my trip to Italy. Yep, awesome. Had to ride four hours to Dijon and to Lyon to eventually get it fixed, but fixed it was Still bloody annoying though
bit of a thread bump as one of my R&T Ohlins forks on the monster just blew badly and dropped fluid everywhere even though i am careful and the bike get cleaned often has anyone who used the skf seals for a while atest to their quality ? do they mark the nitride coating on the stanchions?
The video looks very promising, i couldn't for the life of me get the Seal Mate up into the seal, ended up bending the end of it.
I had someone tell me if the bike is just sitting for periods ( regardless of on paddock stands or not ) the seals will weep. Whereas, regular use they wont. He said the fork stanchion itself is the issues as its mirror smooth and other fork manufacturers have ribbed / weaved surfaces to prevent leaking - or something like that !
Bull shit springs to mind here. There really isn't a lot of intelligence needed here folks...............................................bushes, then seals..........................job done. I'm speaking as someone that has spent years replacing 1098s seals, only to see them go again 18 months latter.
Got my forks serviced here in Dublin yesterday by NDM - NDM - North Dublin Motorcycles - fairly clued in outfit, they do a lot of road race and track bike set up, plus they're fully qualified Ohlins techs. My forks only started weeping this yr, not too bad but from last month or so they were pretty much almost out of oil. My forks had never been touched due to previous two owners pussying about on it and v low mls before i bought it. Its only got 7.5k kms on it now. I only have it just over a yr now. One of the inner plastic rings that has holes in it ( i know, what a desc - see pic below ) was fuked. It had a build up of bakelite in one fork. In the other fork, one of the inner cartridges was sticking. I thought i was in for big expense, but escaped it. Steering never felt bad bad, even on track, but it always felt like steering was a little heaver than it should be. I couldnt put my finger on it. So after a clean, new oil, seals etc,the difference is unreal for the better ! SO my advice, get them serviced, its a bit of a small expense but the rewards more than justify ( all i gotta do is get slightly lighter springs over the stiff stock ones. )
