O boy, nasty one. I've just got a 996sps and plan to take it on the track. Never been before but having watched that I think it'll sit in my workshop for a while more. My courage like my youth has left me. Glad your ok
Pumped it once and no brakes pumped it twice and locked the front up . Very easily done when you are trying to brake for a fast corner only to find there isnt any. Natural reaction will be to grab a big handful of brake on the second attempt . I think you did well it could have been a lot nastier .
Ouch. My bet is air got in the master from the oem coffin reservoir. I believe supersport rules were changed to allow 749r riders to use remote reservoirs for this very reason. Either way, nasty crash and I hope you make a speedy recovery.
Yikes. Nice example of why its worth spending money on gear that fits. (Note to self. Spend more on gear that fits!). I'm not normally one for suggesting what folk do with their lives BUT... after the NHS finish patching you up invest in some private physio- you'll need your knees for a while and that patella tendon is going to be sore and stiff. Even one session from a sports rehab or physio to set you on the right track will be worth it. Don't know where you're based but I can put you in touch with a few if needed.
Defo pads weren't knocked back as i didn't have any tank slap before hand. Its got to be air in the system via broken seal on the master cylinder or something. Either way its to late now just got to get fixed and fix the bike when i can afford it . Will defo be investing in a new race brembo master cylinder though . From the start though its not shaken me from riding and i cant wait to get back on! I love trackdays as it the only way im aloud to ride and ride fast which is what i want to do. Heres a pick of my knee from nottingham hospital once they'd cleaned it up. Ps thank for all the well wishes
That looks pretty sore! Looking at that vid though glad you're mostly alright, looked pretty nasty and that's really not the place you want that happening....If IIRC that same thing happened to a guy at Silverstone earlier in the year on a 749 at the end of Hanger Straight He didn't get away with that so well unfortunately. Hope that heals ok and the bike is back in service again soon!
Ouch...! what happened; total loss of pressure?? If you're going to put on a new master I can recommend the ones that come standard on the 848. I put them on my 748 and they were much better...
Couldnt have injured myself in a worse place as im a contract floorlayer. Gunna be off my knees for quite a while. Im used to cutting my hand open and other horrible things, but this grosses me out i dont even like looking at it. Ive got no problems with peps riding with t-shirts and stuff but this is the reality if you come a cropper. Im literally stuck on the sofa trying to keep my leg static ,bored shitless! back to hospital again in the morn for them to do some bits to it and check the graft site. Fingers crossed they dont use the silver nitrate again!!!!!!!
Are yo a I thought floor layers wore knee pads ? any excuse.......Get back to work you lazy git., Get well soon mate.
