yeah unfortunately it's the top bolt so no chance of getting grips in there.. not having much luck am I! Was thinking I'd hack off the battery box and put a replacement one there after. Anyone got one to flog?
As already suggested, knocking a torx bit of an appropriate size into the rounded off allen bolt should do the trick and allow you to extract the bolt.
I'm curious to see where this ends up... Can you access the ecu via the diagnostic port? Or did you pull those codes through the dash. I fried my ecu, and after replacing it, and can no longer connect with my laptop. I'm wondering if perhaps I've burnt out a wire somewhere. Probably not the same issue, but I'm looking at every angle here.
If that doesn't work you can always simply drill the head off the Allen bolt, so you can get the box off. It should work though. Probably worth spraying the bolt with penetrating fluid or WD40 first and letting it work it's way in for a bit.
It is likely that you have fried your KKL lead. Try a replacement USB KKL ECU DIAGNOSTIC CABLE 409.1 OBD2 II LEAD FOR VW AUDI SEAT SKODA 232BL /M | eBay
I opened it up and everything looked alright, but that certainly is a possibility. Grabbed my bluetooth adapter and will try connecting tonight with my phone to test it out.
At the moment JPDiag Has versions for IAW5* and M3C ECU's. The Mitsubishi as fitted to your 1199 is an ongoing project. I have successfully connected to the 1199 diagnostic using Multitoollite that was developed for the newer Multistrada. Unfortunately it will not reset the service lights. 1200 - Diy Service Reminder Resets, Mileage Adjustment And More | Page 4 | Ducati Forum
