Here's something that doesn't make sense to me. Check out the Troy Bayliss suspension settings. They say this is what Bayliss had on the R model, but the R doesn't have electronic suspension so why would this be on the screen, and if they've used them on the S then I'd imagine it would be different due to different suspension? Also I've read recently that Bayliss liked to set up the rear to be soft to prevent wheel spin and the front to be harder whereas these settings are the other way around. Anyone with jedi knowledge that can make sense of this? perhaps just because it's the Pani? RideApart Comparison: Ducati 1199 Panigale S v R | RideApart
Lower number = lower settings I run Race all the time, I have lowered the rear shock setting a couple numbers working better however I need lower rate rear spring being only 70kg
The first book is the better of the two for understanding how making changes effects how the bike rides. Best one I have read by far.
Just thought I would add my 2 bit in. I can get my forks to bottom out easy all you do is set rebound to less than 5 and compression a lot higher the bike compresses when it hits a bump but does not rebound enough so when you hit the next bump it just adds to the previous compression, ride height is to high and is certainl compounded by adding the comfy seat. My front end is now pretty stable of the top of my head can't remember settings but of to garage soon so will post in a bit, Rear is also more manageable mind you the spring is now an 80, I keep thinking about adjusting ride height front and back as my 848 feels lower and I prefer it. As for snatchy engine ?? I have no idea mine rolls in to corners and roundabouts in 2nd or 3rd and seems very happy and compliant when I tap the throttle, mind you I am running front 15 t (Std) and rear is 43 oh plus had it on the dyno so custom ecu map bike feels aggressive but it is manageable as long as I pay it due respect.
Are the Paniagle R steering head bearings eccentric ones, royalwithcream? I'm intrigued as to how they have changed the steering head angle.
Well I have been playing with my setup most of the weekend and have reached a good compromise for stability and comfort, FC 9 FR 14 RC 12 RR 18

Now that I have 4000 miles on my 14R the rear suspension is not as big an issue as it seemed last year, I'm weigh around 71kg full riding gear, installed 24* eccentric kit, rear SA @ -4 front is perfect I cannot fault it, for high speed road I could softened Com' a couple of No. FT C 16 R 14 RR C21 R18 Rear spring is too heavy rate for my weight so I have backed off preload to the max as a temporary fix and related to my rear settings, but I'm thinking of going with MUPO inserts & rear shock. I like K-Tech but it's pretty pricey in the U.S. MUPO was on Barni Racing SSTK bike so should be well developed + they build for your weight & skill level
