1200 DVT Ducati Puncture Repair Kit

  1. Has anyone had to use it in anger??

I'm overthinking - as usual - but is it ok?

I've seen alternative kits that use a flexible connector to fill the tyre, plus include rubber adhesive to use when putting the plugs in, neither of which come with the Ducati kit.

It's easy to buy another kit, just wondered if anyone has used the one supplied.

  2. I picked up something that deflated the rear tyre very quickly. Up on the stand I eventually found the hole and despite abrading it as per instructions, the insertion tool just cut through the rubber bung as I tried to insert it. Happy I was following the instructions so came to the conclusion it's sh*te. Ordered a mushroom tool and the sticky string tool that has a brass pointy bit on the end of the string from Amazon. 3. Tried it but it didn't seal properly, possibly due to the size/shape/angle of the hole. Luckily I have recovery with my banking, so called them to get me home.

  4. I have seen different tyre repair kits, and the only one which really works comes with BMW bikes (sorry but its true)

somehow these O-shaped rubbers work perfect in sealing the puncture in your tyre.
brand name of this set is called ' Tip Top' ore something similar.
all other rubber bung kits do not work, and believe me, i'v found out the hard way

  5. That is the exact same one supplied as OE with the Multistrada and in my experience the insertion tool just cut through the rubber bung before you could insert into the hole every time I tried until I ran out of bungs. Good luck to you if you made it work but it is not the tool for me. I'll be using either the Stop & Go Tire Plugger (mushroom) or the Dynaplug (sticky string). Andy

  6. I've used the stop n go mushrooms with varying success. If your tire has inside ribs and the puncture is in or very near a rib, you will have a slow leak. But you may get home.

  7. I used mine a couple of weeks ago on my mates z1000sx who's new back tyre was holed enroute to the Yorks dales. Opened hole with special tap tool up to accept insertion tool. Worked fine. And held pressure no bother! We did get the tyre changed a few miles down road as precaution thanks to Castle motorcycles in castleford for fitting us in.
