959 New 959 Panigale

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by monsterleerob, Mar 8, 2016.

  1. If your buying a full system try and get the 1299 one as it has bigger bore headers than the 899/1199,i believe they are the same diameter as the akra/termi race headers.

  2. Problem is price and availability mate.

There's a few jokers expecting £750-£1000 for a standard 1299 system which is fine as it's theirs to sell, but it won't be me buying it.

The 899/1199 ones will be more than fine though won't they with a Rexxer map?

I'm just wondering if all lower fairing panels fit all panigales?

  3. Prices of 1299 exhausts have gone stupid,i had 2 brand new exhausts for a 899/1199 and could not give them away, got £50 each for them.I have a 899 full system that i have had refurbed brushed polished with new brackets and rubbers that may be up for sale in a short while.Lower fairings should all fit but they are different for example early 1199 lowers did not have a oil level viewing hole.

  4. Let me know on the 899 exhaust, there's a few I'm looking at currently, might need to mix and match cans with headers though as that's where I'll get the best condition one (some brand new cans going cheap as obvious take offs from the free akrapovic offer)

So other than the oil viewing window, are all the fixtures, exhuast routing and bolt holes in the same place for the 899/1199/1299?

Last thing I want is to get everything bought from various places and end up with a whole new level of problems :)

  5. i cant be 100% sure on the lower fairings, maybe buy a race fairing kit from ducati,as they are standard unpainted parts and sell on the side panels and nosecone and mirror blanks, you may well end up with the lower panels for free, its £410 Track fairing conversion kit - Ducati Superbike Accessories if you have time check the part numbers for this kit for all the models.

  6. I'm sure the 899/1199 are smaller in diameter than the 959/1299?

  7. Yes they are. As mentioned in one of the previous posts in this thread the 899/1199 uses 55mm diameter pipe and its 60mm on the 959/1299. The mounting points to the engine are all the same though, so all systems are interchangeable, without taking into account engine maps etc.

  8. Hi yes both 1299 farings spare

  9. Thanks for this - are you using the standard 959 map for the new 1299 exhaust?

  10. Hi using standard 959 map bike running and sounding like it should.

  11. Finally got round to removing the exhaust valve servo and fitting the healtech eliminator.

The cable is long enough to fit the eliminator and plug in the gap the servo left so is a tidy job

Only did this to save a bit of weight. Fitting the akrapovic, removing the pillion pegs and removing the servo has saved near 3kg.

  12. If it fits the 1299 it will fit the 959. You will need to change the lower fairings though. You need to look at some other angles though, because personally I think the look a little odd.

  13. Have you left some of the servo there? I'm sure I took that whole thing off. I'll see if I can dig out a photo.

  14. Thanks! Yes I know about the lower fairings but I just wondering if that slipon it's just "plug and play" so I can remove the pre-silencer?

  16. Just thinking about it, unless it includes the link pipe (Y shaped) that joins the headers, then it won't fit. Unless you get a link pipe from the 1299. The 959 one is shorter because it doesn't have the flapper valve there, so it won't reach. Comparison below: IMG_9666.JPG

  17. Thanks for the answer! Then I need a 1299 link pipe to fit this exhaust.

  18. All the servo is gone the piece it mounts to with the heat reflective on I left. it's ideal to keep the eliminator and connector plug out of the way and a rapid bike unit would fit also I think

  19. Hi guys,
Just to sum up the thread content: in order to fit 1299 exahust on 959 I'll need the full system, lower fairing, the exup valve eliminator and that's it.
    Am I right?
