Couldn’t agree more my 998 had 38.000 on the clock my 996R 19.000 miles on the clock ,ride the buggers and enjoy.
When I finally sold it ,the frame ,swinging arm and petrol tank were the only original items.
Raced mine for 16 years in classic racing, had a brilliant time and was glad to use it for what it was designed for.
1974, first one for me 750 gt, had another 24 since including a racing sidecar with an 900 SS engine in.
My brother and I raced one similar ,only ours had 16” front and rear wheels.
My 996 had 56,000 miles on it ,my current bike has done 38,000 miles , a 998.
I got Gilles on mine no problems,been on 17 years.
No idea but I have one.

Sold my 996r 3 years ago due to illness, o to turn the clock back.
I have one with 38000 miles on probably worth F.all, ‘‘tis yellow.
Would rather have the fila one ,that came on eBay a few days ago.
It says in listing it’s 123 bhp .
