Decades ago race cans used to have 'Not for road use' stamped on them, but nearly every one ignored it. Hopefully the stupidly loud maps and...
Did you buy the 1199R?
Well a good pal of mine was ;). And a bike plod did ask me if 'I was in the job'. This was nearly 20 years ago though. Everyone wanted blue back...
[ATTACH] [ATTACH]I wouldn't want a standard one though.
My 99 R1 is probably my favourite old bike. [ATTACH]
I'm at the point now, where noisy exhausts just annoy me. A bit more noise than a standard 1199/1299 would be enough.
I'd raise the issue of sometimes having to wait months for spares, but BMW don't seem to be much better recently.
When I had my 1299, sellers were asking silly money for used Akra exhausts, almost the difference between a 1299S and a 1199R.
I really liked my 1299S, but with hindsight I should have had it mapped and altered the gearing. Plus anything over 2 hours on it, and I was...

Any reason you haven't bought it, and what is the mileage?
Gen 1 and Gen2 1199R, is it just manual suspension and exhaust. Or is there more to it?
Was this 1299 sold?
They had a really nice 1098S in stock 3 or 4 years back, and they'd had to put a brand new tank on it. I think the list price of the Ducati tank...
Not sure if they were exaggerating a little, but they also said if the tank is bloated, it can interfere with the key in the ignition.
I thought my 1299S was going to be a forever bike, but I was cramping up after 1.5 hours on mine. I'd still buy another one, but only for short...
An ex Ducati main dealer told me it can be a struggle get a ballooned tank back on, after taking it off for engine maintenance.
Well I don't know if that South American fella is still there....
