I believe the 899 is more power and torque than a 999(not alot in it though)! The 1st 1098 was 160hp the 899 is 148hp so add the termis the up map...

In race trim smurz 1199 was 5 seconds a lap quicker than the fastest 899 at mallory but obv smurz bike has alot more spent on it than the 899s
