15,000 miles in three years is a lot more than I've done in a long time. I've bonded with this bike like no other so if it came to it, this would be the one I'd keep :)

  4. anyone ever put an 848 engine in a fugly?

  5. I know a guy who stcuk a 748 in a 620 one, but it was difficult as the engine mounts are different

But why stick a motor in with less tourque? Now bunging an 1198 in there...

  6. now yer talking.:upyeah: just like the sound of it. the fuglys a keeper, cant see it ever being iconic and i have done silly things like this before when i was a pup. not on quite the same scale but sooner or later it's gonna blow, so who knows what could happen.

  7. Think the engine may be different at the swingarm, bushes missing and stuff.

  8. might be worth a wee look into when the time comes. wouldn't of got the 848 if the fugly just had a wee bit more. then saying that, after a while we always want more.
might be easier and just wait till an affordable pikes becomes available along with a battered scrambler,or maybe a tuno or rf900 or sp1 or 2 or 749-999 or maybe a ect ect ect. the list is endless quit like the ss aww feck enough fin enough

  9. Finns got the fever.

  10. or an rd500 or xr1200 maybe a......

  11. @finm tbh its easier and better to get an early1200 multi

  12. yip. i like the pikes peak not enough to buy a brand spanker but when one becomes affordable. had plenty fly past me on the road. to many Gs's also.:smile:

  13. The newer mts manages twisty stuff far better than the old 1000 but its not as much a supermoto

  14. Hopeully mine will be finished soon.... More wiring today....

  15. yip thats more my bag, always been good on a crosser. must be a way to get more boom boom from a fugly

  16. Ive never even ridden it.... Bought it off my mate as a stock enduro, unloaded it from his van and took a socket set to it....

  17. should be riot, be a pity to get it dirty tho.

  18. Well, that was my remit..... Theres not one bit of pig iron (fixings) on there... Everything is stainless or titanium....the only thing that is steel i think is the frame and thats double coated, weatherpoof undercoat and black topcoat. Engine coated in xylan.... I should be able to take it out in the shittiest weather and jet wash it over and itll look like that.... We'll see...

Costs went out of the window 6 months ago...

  19. probably for the best. got the dash working?

  20. Yep.... Just went out and got it started... No rev counter yet but weve had that connected also... Its taken ages due to my mate working off site alot, his father being ill and just the sheer fact the whole loom has to be designed from scratch... Week after next will be getting the front light in and all the wiring round the headstock cut down and finalised...
