cool cool. without to much of a thread hijack except just hard wiring much extra circuitry required? resisters/diodes and the like?
(sorry to the op)! Resistors and diodes... Thing of the past..... The m-unit is all microprocessor controlled.... No fuse box.... If anything bridges it just isolates that circuit until the bike is turned off and on... Theres actually going to be less wiring in there that does more..... Canbus i believe.... ie everything from the 6 buttons from the handlebars comes down one wire to the munit. Clocks monitor everything... Voltage, outside temp, amps drawn, water temp, oil temp.... Its even got a g-sensor (should be fun!). All programmable as well. Built in alarm with tilt sensor.... Tons of stuff on it....
I can only have one and it's a 748, although seriously considering selling for a 1098. I don't know if I can let 748 go though, I'm worried I'd regret it.
Everyone I know or talk to who sold one says the same. Thing is that and the m600 monster are the only proper bikes I've owned and feel I am missing out on a bit.
mine was bought new and I practically gave it away 4.5 years later as I was skint at the time, promised myself i'd get another 916 shape bike in the future (that was like 6 years ago) and last month bought a 996S that is in need of a total rebuild so ill make it my own and bring it back to life again over winter so I can get on it next year.
Terrible question. Giving me nightmares n now keeping me awake. Hope never to have to face that situation. My dad had two motorbikes in his garage to his dying day. That's the way to go, ask Exige. Besides....I can feel another one coming on!
