Ive woken up, still a Brit. Thanks fuck. Phew. Well played Scotland. Thought I might end up with loads of skinheads outside my house yelling at me to fuck off back where i came from. I cant tell you how relieved I am.
I watched a youboob video of Rangers fans saying they were leaving Scotland and moving to England if it was a yes vote. After a minute of rambling, they changed their mind, they were moving to Wales. They were a little intoxicated.
Echo the sentiment Boots I was beginning to feel like a one legged man in an arse kicking contest in Glasgow
voted yes as it turned out. was a bit surprised. didn't want to install my convictions on the family.
they bottled it! Although my personal opinion had there been a decent roadmap of how it was all going to work I really do believe that the result would be very different. Lets face it the darling vs slamon debate was proof of that where darling just kept asking questions which SalmonHeart couldn't / wouldn't answer. On the other side of this, I do hope that Scotland does still become master of its own future, being a bit ignorant of such things, what's wrong with giving them the power to set and manage their own taxes?
I think it's going to be very important for the No side to avoid any sign of smugness, but equally important for the disappointed Yes side to be good losers. I am sure you did not mean to suggest that the more stupid voters tended to vote No !
i kind of did actually. as i said i don't actively campaign, some on here can confirm no yes flags hanging off my door. if someone was to say i didn't vote yes because i don't believe them on the pound or other. cool. but to think we where gonna lose the bank, pension or even the bbc. well what can you say. no agro here tho.. if you don't feel confident you can handle your own affairs then you should leave it to some one else. i think if farage made the speech he made this morning instead of yesterday morning, might of been a different story. hayho, 9 months to deliver said promises.
Glasgow voted Yes. I'd be happy to give them independence as Ive always disliked the place. Like I dislike Birmingham and Essex.
If only. The wrangling and horse trading will switch to Westminster now. And I guarantee that not one of them there will have really got the message. It will still be about them, their little club, their ideas and preoccupations imposed on the rest of society with as little democratic mandate as they can get away with. Which is what drove the Scottish secessionist movement in the first place. More than likely the English will shortly feel as disenfranchised as the Scots and we shall be no further forward. I hope not, but I'm afraid I have no more faith in the Westminster ship of fools than Scots do.
I think Scotland did the UK a favour. It might just drive through real change. We have to remain positive that it will. Otherwise weve already lost.
dude i doubt i will ever swap to ukip but we do appear to share some common ground. hopefully this vote will shake up Westminster that is ultimately responsible for the unrest. i wont be voting liberal for a while now in the general election probably S.N.P.
But wasn't it the Scottish Parliament which first kicked smokers out of pubs? I vividly remember visiting Glasgow in 2006 and thinking "Why on earth are all those people hanging around outside the pub?"
I don't think London give a shit, they got their way. This country has asked for a Referendum on the EU for years and are still waiting on the opportunity to Vote. This only divided people, if everyone stood together, then change might actually be a possibility. The bloody middle class, sitting up not wanting to change for the good the whole Country, bloody selfish attitudes. No one ever thinks of the next generation, its all about me and now.
Politicians are put forward by the parties, people vote for the party, regardless if those standing for election are idiots.
