On way home now. Will take some pics when I arrive home. To kick it off, here's the tail tidy I'm going to use Here's a pic of the exhaust setup (will do some close ups when I get in??
Dude I think you do have that bracket... The Vinces bolt on to it at the top... See if you can unbolt & remove the cans (they have to come off anyway eh?) then get some pics underneath
My indicators? They're in the rear light. There arnt any wires that go down the plate. Nice and clean
Yep do have it. Sorry for being a doughnut here's the pics with the cans on... I don't have the original bolts so any m6 bolt should work right? I also included the wiring I do have again I missing the final piece to wire up the lights & indicators, don't really want to have to order a new rear light wire set from Ducati as it will come with plugs that I'll ended up cutting to wire the indicators in. Waste of a lead.
Yeah Id not be getting the loom either bud.. easy enough to check with a multimeter. .. on a side note are those indicators led? If so did the come with the resistors?
I think it has resistors already wired in. I brought the setup 2nd hand approx 15 months ago, never got round to using them on my previous bike... So going to give the new bike the privilege... @Hutch how do I get this setup fitted, now you see what's been currently on my bike, what do I need to do/remove to get the unit on...
As for wiring... That's not my forte so should have. No idea on what I would need to do to make up my own wiring....
Ok... Way I see it is this bit below is missing.. Going from right to left you have the black male connection that fits into the one in your picture, then you have the rear brake light / two indicator connections & finally the black plate light.... You do ideally need this to splice into, if anything just so if you come to sell the bike the next guy can go standard easier if he wants to.... But... If she's a keeper you can easily splice off your female block... from those 5 pins you'll have a shared earth & 4 positives (brake light / indicator x 2 & plate light).. Testing this is easy enough with a multimeter & the ignition on while you mess with the controls & brakes.... Edit.... Just spotted that higher up the thread I said not to bother with the loom & have just contradicted myself.. I meant the secondary loom that runs into the standard hanger... Anyhoo, now that I dug myself out of that the offer is still there for assistance on this mate.. Assuming you want to risk the journey with no rear lights & signals (I wont tell anyone)
Lol.. Thanks for the contradicting info bike is currently fairing-less at the mo, new 1's arrive in a few wks. Will see where I am with the wiring by then & take you up on your offer if still struggling (which I guess I may still be lol)
Tail tidy is as simple as those two bolts mate.. its routing the indicator loom thats the pain.. heatshield removal etc but tbh all thats coming off anyway for the other wiring..
Will I need to unbolt both cans to get access to the bracket? Not sure how else I'll get two bolts through it?
You can try feeding it between the cans insitu... If its not having it then yeah youll need to loosen the hangers & push the cans apart
Jason, I've got my original rear light, loom and indicators if you still want them. Pm me if so and what you want. Kim
