Cheers John, I don't think mines right, on all my previous older dukes I've had to press the Cush drives in and out, on the sf it is quite loose and just moves front to back. I wast told that they all move a bit
The 1098 sprocket recall replaced the rear sprocket with a stronger unit. The cutouts around the mounting had fillets forged in to them. There's been no recall regarding the Cush drives themselves I'm aware of. The letters are generated via VOSA and any bikes not showing as having been done get a reminder. Most of the time it's a break down in comms in the system. Change of ownership seems to throw it out to. Easy enough to get checked out via dealer with your VIN number.
I've had my 900SS from new in 1992 and I've NEVER had a letter from Ducati. What a swizz. Then again, if they'd issued a recall for everything that goes wrong on the SS they'd wouldn't have time for anything else.
The dealer may have just done recall work when it went in for a service as it would flag up on their system.
That quite often happens. There are a few scenarios.... Safety related ones are issued in conjunction with VOSA and a letter is sent out. Then there are less serious ones that get sorted at service or by the customer going to see the dealer. Then there are tech bulletins which get picked up at service also. The letters that get reissued like those in the past week or so are the safety ones via VOSA.
