1098 1098r And Bayliss Owners Advice Needed

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by ducatidude1098r, Oct 22, 2015.

  1. I have one in my sights currently, just negotiating :Angelic:

  2. No worries :upyeah:

  3. I've been getting insurance quotes for a Bayliss. Has anyone else HAD to fit a tracker?

  4. I have been "requested" to install Thatcham approved security. Nothing specific just something off the list of approved devices. It is not untypical for an Insurance underwriter to require a minimum level of security over and above the manufacturers standard system and with the recovery success of systems like the BikeTrac, I'm not surprised. Andy

  5. No additional insurance requirements on mine. Carole Nash.

  6. Weird. I'm currently with CN and they insisted I fit a tracker. They also said they would no longer protect my 10 years no claim bonus as I'd been subject to an accident last year. A clear cut absolutely not my fault. They also wanted nearly a grand to insure my three bikes.
    I fell out with them.

Ducati insurance said none of the above and wanted £550 ish.

  7. Try Peter James insurance.
I left Carol Nash after 21 years as a customer after they doubled my premium when I added a new bike.
I'm insuring 6 bikes with Peter James for £950.00.

  9. Nice bike. Looks strange with a red front mudguard. :)

  10. I see many of you have converted to Dzus for the fairings - does anyone have a link to a good supplier please - have seen one ad at £59 for 17 fasteners which seems ok but must be others.

  11. IIRC Curvy Girl was a recommended seller at one time.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  12. I've been looking at speedyfasteners. Do a complete set of standard fixings in stainless for less than £50. Andy

  13.
  14. What length do you need Andy? I think I'll go for the black Dzuz fasteners.

  15. I have the original carbon mudgard but quite like the 'matching' red one for a change.

  16. I bought 8 of these for my last project. Not genuine dzus, but pretty good.

  17. I was looking at a complete kit for the track fairing and 1 or 2 of the well nuts on the bike are looking past their best. The speedy fasteners kit just looked good value for money. Have to say I've not noticed Dzuz fasteners in any of the pictures and they would certainly make taking the panels off a lot easier. Andy

  18. I just bought some of the panel/ receiver half from @Topolino site. Bargain...:upyeah:
