My belly pan has quite a large scratch and a bit of bubbling where the exhaust has been touching. I'd decided to live with them as I've regularly seen these advertised 2nd hand for £650, and these weren't mint either. Anyhoo, a new one appeared on eBay for £400 in Italy. I place a cheeky offer of £200 and settle on £250. I'm as happy as a happy thing. It'll be bubble wrapped and go in the loft and I'll keep the current one on the bike, I didn't think I'd get one for a reasonable price. ducati 1098 R lower side fairing Ducati Performance 48012621A | eBay
My Venhill brake lines arrived, postman tried to jam them through my letter box. Look good quality and all fixings and washers provided. Ordered Monday afternoon, posted Wednesday, good service. Not a carbon belly pan I know ........... . Andy
The 1098R has been my bike of choice this year, being the only bike I have used in 2016 until today. I thought I better get the Streetfighter S out and give it a blast. The difference is incredible, to the point where the Streetfighter felt slow, and I never thought I'd say that. :Wideyed: The top end power of the 1098R wasn't there and the SFS almost felt as if it was restricted. Don't get me wrong, it's still a very quick bike and far too much for the road in reality, but riding them back to back made me realise how incredible the 1098R is. Today's ride has made me realise they are both bikes I'll never sell. The 1098R really is a special bike. The SFS is such a hoot, almost the perfect sunny day road bike and a great option for a lazier day when the ferociousness of the R is too much.
I know someone that goes around the outside of sportbikes on his Pan European with touring tyres too.....two up... I dont think he's realised they're not trying. And I wonder why they dont use them at MotoGP?
