1098 1098s Light Up On Dash 1098 Racing Evo?????

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Martynas, Aug 2, 2014.

  1. Old thread but similar problem. Bought an 848 EVO with Termi slip on and the dash says 848 SBK EVO, I'm also noticing a very feint smell of fuel on ocassions.

Can I just buy the diag adapter and download the right map for this setup? Don't really want to spend a couple of hundred quid for a custom map.

  2. You can Jim. I bought a recon Hudl 1 from eBay for £30, £20 for the leads and £8 for the Tune Ecu app in order to do the same.

  3. Thanks for the reply, Pavey.

Can I use my laptop instead of a Hudl, or was that the most efficient and easiest route?

  4. You are welcome to borrow it if need be? Are you ever in London?

You can use a laptop. I had to go the Android tab route as I use Macs and Tune Ecu won't run on them.

You would just need the leads and app.

    Got mine from here -

  5. Generous to offer mate. I can borrow the wife's laptop so that's one half of the problem sorted.

You read my mind as my next question was cheap leads. Always handy if returning the bike to stock.

I'm more Surrey than London, but I work 20 mins (train) from Waterloo.

    Thanks for your help!

  6. Turns out you can only use the Android app for 848's according to the Tune ECU website - bit of a pain but I don't mind buying a cheap HUDL as Pavey suggested.

Worth noting for anyone else going down this route.

  7. Mate, that's a cracking find. Much appreciated!

Pavey's link pointed me to a good place for the leads - FTDI chipset confirmed . Thankfully I thought I'd get the one with Android leads anyway just in case.

  8. Well, I now have all the tools. Going to buy the Tune ECU app in a bit.

I assume the DP map I needwill be available on there? Going to do a backup first thing before getting stuck in.

  9. You go to the tuneecu web site ... download the maps to ya tablet and unzip them ... then when you open the tuneecu app you can locate the map you want to load from the drop down menus
