With mine the flash rate is high when the ignition is on and the engine not running. With the engine running the flash rate is normal. I have LED indicators on the rear too and suspect that's part of the problem. Buggering about with various resistors failed to do anything to resolve it. John
That's exactly what mine does....I had to change the polarity over to start with, the same as Matt too. The flash rate was exactly the same with the standard rear indicators on, and is still the same with the led's in on the back. Not bad for £180 mirrors....well done Ducati!
Looks like we are all similar. I had to swap the polarity as well Anth. Interesting on the swapping of the rear indicators to standard doing sweet FA. That then explains why my experiments with resistors did nothing. When I had the standard front indicators with the rear LEDs all was normal. So it's definitely summit to do with the DP mirrors themselves. Dunno about you Anth but I find the indicators on the DP mirrors pretty anemic compared with the standard too. It would have been nice if Ducati had used LEDs with a bit more wattage. That said I really like the mirrors, I prefer the look (though some don't) and although I still need to chicken dance a bit, the view is rock solid so I can actually see what's going on behind me John
Yeah I like them, cause they don't vibrate and I'd rather chicken dance a bit that fit moose antler extensions. The fast flash with the engine off doesn't bother me....I don't tend to indicate with the engine not running and it goes right as soon as its started. (no one I've asked can explain why they do this) Maybe they could have put stronger led's in them, with there being less of them than in the standard ones. Anth
I like them cause I can get the mirror into a position that I like, as as said they are steady. Not that I've used them much lately, they're just sat on a shelf!
What are the hoses like to fit? Do they go in quite easily? Been thinking about doing this one myself. matt
The hoses are easier than the fireblade I had You can do it by removing the side panels (both sides) and un shipping the battery holder then access is easy. The pain was simply taking the radiator cap off to top the system up as it only just has enough clearance above with the air intake in place (but it does come off) Took me 1.5 to 2 hours kit DUC-12 was £170 with new Samco clips from avanti race spares and I used just under 2 litres of castrol pre mixed at £5.50 a litre, hope this helps If you need more pics let me know and I will try and get them before it all goes back together
Cheers. Birthday next month so I've emailed the mrs the avanti link. No excuse now for not getting what I want!
So what been going in with your 1098 mate... You will be glad to know Ive ordered a Blue samco hose kit as can't treat one of the girls and not the other and both will be running the Evans coolant too....lol . Thought blue as mines already VERY red...
Sounds great Arthur, the bike is going to riders on Monday for the rectifier recall work and fitting the 14th front sprocket as even my BIG tq wrench won't budge the bloody bolt !! Bought a GI pro gear indicator for her and Shane's is sorting out some leathers for me so will see how they look soon Also got some white HEL race lines so I can get the callipers off without swearing as much any suggestions on brake fluid ? When the weather improves will pop over to get some Evans coolant put in the bike and might get a DP/Oberon clutch M/C to fit as well
I think the front calipers use stretch bolts, so it may be worth investing in some new ones if you're going to pull the calipers off. On a sep note, my Samco hoses are sat in the box waiting to go on, which should keep my busy for an afternoon
lol, good man... Shane's is that man for leathers he has some nice gear and the bloke who makes them defo does a good job from the photos he's posted! You welcome to drop in anytime mate bike or car... I say car as once you've been down my track you will understand why I say. Brake fluid I like Castrol or Wurth is ok tbh any main stream fluid is good but I try never to mix them, no need for hi temp fluids unless racing or unless you like to change it often. Im a fan of the Evans mate ran some for a few hours in my supermoto with no problems and waiting for good weather to test out the blade not that we would see any difference from that to any other coolants, in theory it runs a deg hotter but more consistent over all however so far Ive seen the opposite and had a much longer warm up time on the blade so seems good, when you look at where they use it rest assured us play time bikers will have no problems and no need to worry about corrosion etc.
Fitted new pads and pro bolt stainless bolts when I changed the tyres over, there not stretch bolts as far as I know just a dab of loctite and the correct tq setting and your fine Will be good to get the hoses on mate, you will like me realise how perished the OE pipes are after 5 years !
