  1. That's fantastic news - well done that man :D
Mick taking aside I reckon a cable upgrade would reduce the starting issue considerably :upyeah:

I suggest you rule out the solenoid before spending money on cables and a battery. as you may find still have the same problem even with the new items.

  4. Indeed, if there is a fault elsewhere then you are fooked anyway :):upyeah:stronger battery and better cables are just improvements on standard inadequate items...

  5. I now have a charger, so im charging battery tonight and will try again tomorrow. If it fails then i inow what else to try. New cables from exige. Although im 95% sure charging battery to full will work. I will update here tomorrow (so exciting i know )

  6. The cables are a good idea anyway. Oem cables are inadequate when new and only get worse with time.
A charged battery and new cables will have it cranking at double the speed.

  7. Its finished charging. Went from 11.5v to now 13.5-14v on multimeter

  8. If it doesn't start with a fully-charged, healthy battery, and it cranks without sounding too lazy, you either have no spark or you've got a fuelling issue. Forget replacing cables at this point. It's virtually a new bike. If you still have at least 12V at the batt terminals while cranking then the ECU will be happy. You need to check for a spark and fuel.

  10. Cam, you need to check the voltage after disconnecting the charger for a few hours, if it is still reading 13v then the battery is still good, if it has dropped overnight back to 12.7v inside the house the battery is no longer in a new condition.

  11. Cam, in the (hopefully) unlikely event that it doesn't start after all this - I am being a pedantic Anorak I know, but just for thoroughness and possibly to save time - if you happen to come up with what was replaced at the service then it could be relevant. :upyeah:

  12. Just checked it after 8 hrs and its still the same!

  13. It was actually a clutch plate issue, was riding a few months back, tried to switch down a gear and it got completely stuck, had that repaired, £400

  14. I have good and bad news

Good news: bike started and i started riding to my mums

Bad news, half way there the bike lost like 75% power, started to sound extremely strange like it was turning over very slowly. I was only 1 mile from home so i just kept going very slow. I got home, got off it and the fucking bike was on fire, im seriously freaked out right now. I looked inside exhausts and it was almost white hot, that was 10 min ago, luckily the only flame was from exhaust. Its cooled down now and just smells weird. But what the fuck man that really scared me.

I fix 1 thing and something else goes wrong

  15. Sorry to hear, I was reading up on something similar only last week, affecting several 848/1098 bikes but all with no conclusion. I can only guess at dribbling/non sealing injectors causing over-fueling or the engine deciding to run extremely lean for some reason but no personal experience of this myself on a Ducati.

  16. Im gonna have to take it back to the ducati specialist again. Then i may sell it, this bikes costing me too much money and stress. I feel like it could of exploded if id ridden it much longer or something. I dont know really. This is 3rd thing gone wrong with it in a month. Its always been cared for and serviced properly so im thinking this is a fault on ducatis part. I think ill stick with my ktm as it never has issues

  17. I wouldn't open with that on the sales add.

  18. Stick it for sale on here Cam, you'd be surprised, you may get a few interested.

  19. Do you have a link to that Chris please?

  20. I will find out what caused this issue 1st. The bike has under 2k miles, it shouldn't be having all these issues. My mum bought it new and always cared for it. I dont want to sell a bike unless i know its completely fine
