1198 1198 On A Dyno For A Set Up At Motorapido?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by bootsam, May 6, 2014.

  1. My 1098R is with them right now getting a full fat engine rebuild.... I did a bit of homework prior to going for it. Not cheap but those boys know their stuff and I'm fully confident my R will be the bonkers, glorious beast I love when I get it back. Can't wait....

  2. be careful with torque, it knocks your bottom end out :Banghead:

  3. I'd also recommend wilf and Moto Rapido to know what they're doing, they have got a 4 week wait for the workshop though so book early

  4. Well, Ive had no response from MR. So I guess they're busy.

Anyone had experience with Steve Jordans?

  5. Isnt Steve doing the NW?

  6. Ive got till 18/06 when Im off to the Alps. No hurry. But the sooner the better as I need tyres soon.

  7. Call them instead. Or if its a PC dyno then dynotech at Basingstoke I can recommend

  8. Yup, they are indeed busy. They've just stripped my engine down but it'll be 3 weeks before they can rebuild it. You should be ok for 18-06 though.

  9. Dont suppose you are anywhere near Peterborough @bootsam ?? I'd recommend BSD if so... Great place / they know their stuff / generally cheaper for the ECU remap... Expect around £350

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  10. Im J6/M25 @Hutch so miles away.

  11. Hmm... a fair jaunt :(

  12. Isn't there a place near Slough that come well recommended?
Ah..... DynoJet testing and tuning Centre.

One chap I know that did a conversion same as mine got his sorted there.
    PC though.

  13. ah, those guys dyno'd one of my bikes and didn't tighten the lambda ports properly. When the first one came loose, the flames nearly set fire to a very expensive bike. I checked the second and found that was on it's way to coming out, which would have burned my fairings and/or the oil lines.

When I phoned them, they didn't really give a monkeys. I think their work on the dyno is ok, but I don't think I'll be going back.

  14. Ive given MR a phonecall to start the ball rolling. My mate used SJ on his R1 and he wasnt best pleased with them so its MR then. Probably for the best as I hear good things about them on here. Ive been quoted £400+vat which isnt too steep and circa the figure i had in mind.

  15. Same ballpark as CJS

  16. Shame its in Bristol. As it would have been my 1st choice.

  17. @bootsam Is that a new map?

  18. Hi Bootsam, I used HM racing in Edenbridge to set my 1098 up. Done an excellent job.

  19. HM? Didn't know they had a dyno. I'll have a chat with Dave there as Ive bought a fair bit of gear from them. Cheers.:upyeah:

    They're only down the road.

  20. personally? I'd trust MR and CJS with my Ducati :)
