Great bike, love my 1198s also in black when the light hits it right it sparkles and shouts sex!! And you don't really see them in that colour, enjoy
Enjoy it ,you will be amazed at the torque these things hammer out , oh Im going to have to touch myself again .
My 1198 makes stupid amounts of power - far too much to use on the road. I'm sure I'd be as quick on a 80 ~ 100bhp machine. I went out on him yesterday - would I swap it? No chance. I loved every second on it. So what if I don't use him to his full potential?
I haven't got a pic of it Phil and its been taken off eBay but I'll stick one on next weekend when I pick it up
Right I've got a little question to ask you SP owners or anyone in the know. My 848 has got the dry slipper conversion with the open cover and I'd like to stick the open cover onto the SP but I want to know will the SP have the sexy red pressure plate hidden behind the cover or do I need to swap that over as well?
The SP is an outstanding bike. Torque everywhere, feels heavy but is in fact super light. Quickshifter works fine, better in the lower gears when on full chat (I never use it below about 4500/5000rpm). Suspension needs to be set up if it hasn't already (mine wasn't even close to the standard settings), but it'll handle like a dream when you have it done. As for the pressure plate, yes, it's a red plate hiding behind that cover ;-)
Mine has a sexy red plate, but Im not sure whether the previous owner fitted it. It also has sexy black Gilles rear sets, sexy black frame plugs, sexy smoke screen, sexy black levers and one or two strategically placed sexy Ducati Corse gel badges. It stands on a sexy black Constand, with both black sexy tyres off the ground. Oh, and me, I might be sexy, but I'm not black.
Thanks Bullitt your bike looks mint. I'll swap the cover over then I'm already used to the DQS with my evo corse which also doesn't work well at low revs or when you haven't got the throttle open and when I test rode the bike everything felt smooth so hopefully if I keep treating it well it should stay ok.
Thanks, it's a stunning machine and I love the character of it. Doddle to ride as slow speed, even if the clutch is a tad grabby, but stick on a race track and it sings!! As far as rearsets go, I have the DP one and if I'm honest, they're not the best. There's a plethora out there, find ones you like and ask here for experience of quality etc.. Here's one of the other side just to keep you occupied... lets see a pic of yours!!
