1199 Superleggera Rr - Project 1201 Koen

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by mygreenalien, Dec 16, 2013.

  1. 5.5k no thanks rather but an R , BACK TO REALITY

  2. that's buy not but

  3. Jimmy, There all Carbon/Kevlar. That light that you wouldn't know that you had them in your hands. I picked up most of the parts @ WDW as I guess most of the people their did. The only 2 heavy parts I could feel were the Crank & front forks, everything else was lighter than a feather duster. When moving the bike around you can feel how light it is compared to everything else. Now I can fully understand where £54K has been spent

  4. yeh suppose its one of those you have to look at properly, not just on a stand at the nec, be interesting to see if a new panni comes out as ive heard ,

  5. What I think most people tend to forget is that in the 1199SL, they're over 200 new components fitted to the SL over a standard 1199. Whilst generally they do look similar in many ways, in others they're completely different.

  6. will this run a stat anywhere now that you do not run fans and have the pressurized system???

  7. ^ It's the RS cooling system so no stat. Temp displayed on the dash as normal and in the data logger, MR added a coolant temp sensor to the RS cooling system to suit the SL ecu. Amazing work they are doing for me.

  11. Asked steve how much there bsb engines cost. I thought £10k, said try 25000 Euros.

  12. So the paint prep starts!

The great thing about this project has been the people i've met and how genuinely helpful they have been - Mike from Rage Designs case in point. Despite being mega busy, he has accommodated me in a tight time scale to turn project around to help me out big time. His attention to detail and work clear to be seen. He said the full six carbon is the best he has seen since Troy Bayliss 1996 bike - not a bad accolade that for full six i'd say!

  16. Popped in at the weekend and got a sneeky peek at the wheels and I've seem less grit on a sander than the anti slip treatment on your rims. Nice discs too, kind of reassuringly thick and meaty to go with those calipers. The bike looks kind of odd sitting in the workshop absolutely naked just waiting to get dressed - it takes your breath away :upyeah:. Andy
