You can also deflate the tyre slightly and wedge a block of wood against the tyre, thus when undoing the rear wheel the tyre has more contact patch and also digs into the wood locking the wheel and preventing it from turning.
My impact driver wouldn't budge it either. Managed it in the end but had to get my neighbour to sit on the bike in the end as Mrs T was too light and the bike was moving all over the place with her sat on it.
I'm lucky I have a 23 stone brother who just leans on it with one hand. Comes undone straight away or it just sheers off! If anyone's struggling I can hire him out for £20 plus P&P. :Cigar:
