  2. Ha ha.!

Is it dangerous of me to say, have Ducati ever made a bad race bike? Ok so they have slipped a little at the mo but this could make up for lost ground.! One thing is for sure I bet it will go like stink!!!

  4. Do you think BMW had a clue about the project? Maybe that's why they pulled out of WSB ;)

  5. Don't know much about them pulling out of WSB, however the HP4 is a great bike for the road.
Easy to ride, suspension is amazing and goes like stink, I've put more miles on this during the last year than any other bike.

  6. I've been told it's purely a "this is what we can do" exercise & won't be raced!

  7. Prob so, I'm only throwing comments in and have no idea to why? But a good question.. why indeed?

Guess it has nothing to do with WSB etc as after all that's another level all together and costs ££££££££'s

Perhaps that's just it, a high end 1199 for those who can :) and why the hell not! :)

  8. Seeing as Superleggra is a trade mark owned by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera the company who design and build light weight bodies for the Bentley Continental and other prestige brands.

I wonder if they had a hand in the design of this bike in some way?
If so it may well be a first for them.

  9. I think that Ducati Panni RR looks shite to be honest. The specs don't sound special (no gas forks no WSB brake upgrade). You would have thought Ducati could do better than a desmo copy colour scheme when asking this much money for a top of the range bike.So finaly a top of the range Ducati I don't like but then they would have to get rid of that hideous looking rear shock for starters and give it unique styling like they did with desmosedici.

Id take a Desmosedici ,996/8R and 999R Xerox over that anyday and with the stupid price ducati is asking you could probably buy all three of the above bikes. All I can think is what a let down after all the hype.

Ducati really is going down the shitter lately. At least with desmo I can think of success with Bayliss one off ride and moaner as much I cant stand the c##t.The only thing Pani has been successful at it turning Champion Checa into a also ran and they want to celebrate that with a limited edition bike. What a joke.

  10. I don't know what angle to take the bike from.. if its not for racing then?? Is it just for those who want an extreme 1199? I can't think of many bikes around now at +50K that are off the shelf bling? Other than the gorgeous MV F4 CC at £75,000.00!

If you have never seen one take a closer look! A STUNNING motorcycle down to the smallest detail! Will the Ducati be the same quality for near the same money.

  11. I'm thinking of selling my Desmo for one.
    Hard decision!

  12. What for a CC or the 1199?

  13. 1199

  14. Ah yeah sorry I'm drifting off topic....ha ha..

Oh that's a hard one!!!! The desmo is SUCH a lovely bike! Not sure I could part with one at ALL! IF I had one, I'm still in love with Dave's after a go and that was years ago....lol

  15. I guess Arthur is near the mark ie like a MV Agusta CC.Hmm now that is stunning.Still remember dribbling when I saw it at one of the bike shows.

If I had the cash ducati would not be the option id even consider. Now that new Moto GP inspired Honda would be burning a hole in my pocket for sure just like desmosedici would.

Bloody hell I miss the days of ducati being successful in racing.Foggy,Toseland,Bayliss and even bloody moaner.Watched the Moto GP today and not good again.Even the talented Dovi is fecking around at the back now along with his WSB equivalent Checa.

Be nice if Ducati could sort the racing out first, win and then bring out a special to celebrate this.

As others have mentioned Kope's R seems like a better spec for the money than this 50+k bling bling RR.

  18. With the GP exhaust I think its THE BEST sounding motorcycle I have ever heard on the road, ok ok there are a good few others like honda's 6, MGP bikes etc etc but the Desmo with the GP system is something else and a ROAD BIKE!, missed a chance at a go on one with the full system but that's gone! Dave's was amazing and worth the 40K just for the sound was like nothing else I have ever rode and that's just the race slip on! Loved IT! I could NOT sell that bike....still if you need someone to look after it for you just drop it round.. ;) ;)

  19. The Desmo is something else...I could look at it all day long & as you say, the sound it makes with the GP7 exhaust is spine tingling! Anybody who says they're a disappointment has surely never ridden a properly set up 1!
I thought the Superleggera would be Desmo money so was a bit stunned, to say the least, when the price was revealed! Is it twice the bike an R is? I doubt it! I've ordered 1 before seeing it thinking there may be a rush & I'd miss out but I'm having 2nd thoughts tbh!

  20. I know what you mean Deano. I don't have a Desmo as I chose the 1098R route at the time. Looking at this picture I may decline and see what else comes along. 54K is a lot and looking at this it looks too much like a standard Panigale with an expensive paint job. It needs to be viewed in the flesh to see if its worth the mortgage tbh. I can't understand why they painted it to look like a Desmo, other than knowing it'll be spotted more easily just as the Desmo is now.

Being invited to look at 1 is 1 thing, ordering 1 and being accepted is another. Would I want 1? I really don't know, to a large degree yes but then I'd also like a Desmo too. I don't want to sell the 1098R as this has won 2 WSBK's/ SSTK's and BSB amongst others. Plus when you think about it is the last Trellis framed SBK. The Panigale has now had an added Trellis rear subframe which seems to have improved things no end and shown some good potential.

Well only time will tell and you can't take it with you.
