Great video though and it's great to see that you're back out there and enjoying that fantastic bike! :upyeah:

  2. Sorry to hear about your loss. But as you have said, life is for enjoying every day you can, none of us knows what tomorrow brings. So let's keep building and riding the bikes we all love!

  3. Strange that no-one has picked him up for posing in his leathers with his loafers on. Looks dead funny.

(great thread btw and sorry for your loss)

  4. tx guys ... i had the boots ready but.... forgot all about them ... :)

  5. And it looks like you've lost more weight since Brands :upyeah:

  6. yep - i am at 89 kgs now down 21 ! :)

  7. How have you managed to do that Raymond? Looking like you cut your arm off. ;0)

  8. Respect. I've lost about 2 and that's hard enough (without giving up drinking - or in fact, anything). Thank good for gardening and the pool.

  9. So , things are moving again ....

got the livery back from the painters and all looks great ... took the opportunity to have some matt pieces redone glossy... should go on before we do the trackday at Brands.

there is also a bit of a modern twist to the oldschool theme... should bring a bit more balance in the white part of the head fairing and a small reference to the R theme as the black lines now follow the white stripes the R head carries...

also in the mena time we enjoyed a day at Moto rapido with the big man Steve himself giving our bikes a bit of electronics TLC ... checking up on different en confirming that we're pritty far as to where we can go without pushing it over the edge... it was a great day and we learned a lot...

being able to compare some development that were done using the Rapidbike modules, we came to the conclusion that more bhp was to be found on the R but that would imply fiddling with the ignition timing and this is where it get's hairy... as the pistons of the 1199 are of record braking dimensions there seem to be a bigger chance of getting the ignition wrong and this has immediate fataly effects on the conrods... that seems to be the reason why even the Corse SSTK software does not allow tuners to change that part of the package... so we finally burried the idea of pushing for the last bhp's through that road... we did stumble on the akward ways that the inlets get their air . especially the rear one seems to be in dire need of more room for air to flow..

one of the ears on the wall of a tuners office somewhere in the region of Liege seem to confirm that point of focus ... the engine in itself has it all to get to a level of competitivness but needs work in that area...

as to setup, some number we're getting as to springloads are way of the scale when compared to normal springs.. there is talk of rear springs being run at 140-150! and that the SSSA does not lack stifness but might be too stiff.

Brands will see a different setup as we will dial in some more rebound to slow the head down... looking forward to what should be a great event as MR invited us into their garage and we feel honored..

the season is silently coming to a close and i guess every dry day gained should be considered a gift...

perhaps a Zolder and Spa day before we head for Mugello for the wrap up ... :)

he winter should be a interesting period to see how far we can get with mapping and set up ...

will post some pic from the day and hope to see a lot of you there !

    grtz

  11. Question: after all this work and effort, do you think you have a better tool than a well set-up and fairly stock BMW S1000RR?

    Just interested.

  12. Well it looks better for a start.

  13. for the money: it's a better tool but i won't make that happen. a bike like this one ran 0,5 seconds to the lap record of SPA... so i know it can do wonders in the right hands. those hands are not mine...

but, apart from the last few K because of the drop, i enjoyed this year every inch off the way...
i build my own RR before the factory did i i'm pritty sure it's one of the prittiest out there... :)

i ve had a blast on her with some great company, met a lot of great people and riders and still have some great days to go this year..

just booked a day at Hockenheim on the 30th...

just look at her and ask your question again.... :)
